REVIEW: Finding My Way by Heidi McLaughlin

REVIEW: Finding My Way by Heidi McLaughlin

REVIEW Heidi McLaughlin does it again. I don’t care how I feel about the book going in (No one will compare to Liam and JoJo… Nothing will tear me away for my love for Mason and Katelyn…)  I always leave totally captivated!  I love this world. At first I wasn’t sure I was interested in Liam’s pre-story to Forever My Girl, but damn if i didn’t get sucked in and yeah, even though I knew some of the plot points because I’ve read all the other books, each one touched me the same way this time as it did the first time. I was anxiously waiting for them to come, in fact. With that said, you do not have to read all the other books to enjoy this one. In fact, It’s perfect to actually start the series with Finding My Way, because really, this is the beginning of the… Read more »

$50 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Mine to Claim by A.C. Arthur

EXCERPT “Why do you keep saving me?” I don’t know why I asked that question, wasn’t really sure I wanted the answer. But I didn’t want to walk away from him, not just yet. “I mean you just keep showing up where I am, when there’s some guy bothering me, like you’re my personal bodyguard.” When he didn’t speak I got worried. “You’re not, are you? My parents didn’t hire you to watch me, did they?” “Wow,” he said with a wry chuckle. “What kind of parents do you have?” I was about to answer or at least give him some sort of retraction statement when I noticed something. He’d smiled, or one half of his mouth had lifted as if he wanted to smile and his voice hadn’t sounded so ominous. “I guess the same type anybody has,” I replied lightly, “if you have insanely strict and overprotective ones… Read more »

I looked up at his sandy hair, which was a little too long as usual, and sweet face, and smiled back. I really missed being around him. “What’s up?” I asked. “Look, I heard a bit about what’s going on with you, and I talked to Jess. SNEAK PEEK: Make It a Double by Sawyer Bennett

SNEAK PEEK: Make It a Double by Sawyer Bennett

***  SNEAK PEEK…Make It a Double, releasing April 21, 2014*** While I just helped Gabby move into Hunter’s house, I certainly didn’t need to ask them to reciprocate the favor. The only things I own are my clothes, and those were gifts to me from my mom. She had taken me out shopping the day after I got home from prison, outfitting me with an entirely new wardrobe. I mean… new as opposed to wearing prison garb for five years. I felt ashamed that my mom had to buy her twenty-eight-year-old son clothes because he didn’t have a dime to his name.I put the last of my groceries away, fold up the brown paper bags, and tuck them in the space between my refrigerator and the kitchen wall. Turning around, I observe my little studio apartment. I see it all in just a quick glance, because it’s about the size… Read more »

$50 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: The Opposite of Nothing by Shari Slade

She changed into a tank top and threadbare shorts before slipping into her desk chair. I’ll just check my school email, ten minutes tops. She was lying to herself, bargaining with the devil. I will not open his profile. I will not send him a message. Making that fake profile for herself last month had seemed like such a good idea at two o’clock in the morning, after a few beers with Jessa and a few agonizing hours of watching Tayber hook up with some random girl at The Brick. She just wanted to know what she was missing. In graphic detail. Sasha let her find out. Except it had only made her wanting worse, and it was such a wrong thing to do. So she’d stopped. At least a dozen times. But nothing stopped him from messaging her. There it was, blinking away. She should ignore it. Delete, delete,… Read more »

TOUR REVIEW: Frenched by Melanie Harlow

TOUR REVIEW: Frenched by Melanie Harlow

C’est  tres bonne! This is the first book I’ve read by Melanie Harlow and it won’t be the last. Frenched is my favorite kind of story to read; it’s smart, funny, emotional, and very sexy. I found myself smiling through entire chapters, unable to stop reading. The story captures your interest immediately and you instantly bond with the characters in the book. We meet Mia just days after her fiancé dumps her only a week before their mega-wedding of the year is supposed to take place. She’s devastated, humiliated, and heart-broken. With the encouragement from her two best friends, and the threat of a visit from her mother, she decides to go on her would-be honeymoon to Paris. When arriving in Paris, she remains in a sour mood as she is alone and cannot escape the overwhelming amount of romance in the city of lights. Everywhere she looks she sees… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Whisper by Ava Claire

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Whisper by Ava Claire

EXCERPT  Copyright 2014 Ava Claire The sun shone through sheer curtains, making Jenna’s hair glitter. Her blonde hair was messy, golden strands sticking out every which way. When she smiled at me before scrambling to find her shoe, my heart swelled in my chest. Jenna stood tall before me in her mix-matched sandals, dirty Outer Banks t-shirt, and flowered leggings. I was sure my heart would burst from my ribcage. She didn’t care about any of the things Mom forced down our throats. I smiled down at her, wanting to remember her this way. Before she cared about stuff like shoes or makeup or hair or what other people thought of her. Before she became me. I pulled her in for a hug, pressing a kiss on top of her greasy, unwashed head. I didn’t even mind. She peered up at me strangely and I covered the tender moment with… Read more »

$25 GIVEAWAY: GUNS: The Spencer Book

GUNS EXCERPT -SPENCER “Rook’s not pregnant,” Ronin says the next morning, as he strides into the office, his hair messed and his t-shirt wrinkled. He flops down on the black leather couch off to the side of my desk. I shoot Ronin with my finger. “Gotcha. OK. We ready to discuss business?” “Ashleigh is,” Ford says. He shakes the Wall Street Journal a little to straighten it out as he holds it up to his face. “Ashleigh is what?” Ronin asks. “Pregnant.” “Ford, don’t mess with the guy. He’s got baby on the brain since Elise is due to pop out a niece. Not to mention you coming home with Ashleigh and Kate.” Ford ignores me. “She didn’t pee on the stick yet, but I know she’s pregnant.” He turns the page of the newspaper. “How?” Ronin asks as he leans over to my desk and grabs a coffee in… Read more »

FRIDAY NIGHT FREEBIE: Signed Eversea and Forever Jack Paperbacks by Natasha Boyd

This is another set of books I got at Indie girl Con to give away on the blog. I’ve never read these, but they were very popular and they have great reviews. Up for grabs tonight are both books in this series, Eversea and Forever Jack, signed by the author, Natasha Boyd. ************************* EXCERPT My cold hands found Jack’s warm, smooth skin. He tensed under my touch, his eyes now slate grey in the darkened hall. Jack’s hand came up to my face, and his thumb brushed over my lips like when my tongue had accidentally found him. This time he pushed it against my lips, seeking entry. I hesitated a split second before sucking him into my mouth to taste the tang of his skin. Jack’s breathing hitched as he fed it to me, sliding it in and out against my tongue. His mouth grew taut, his nostrils flaring… Read more »

PRE-ORDER GIVEAWAY and BLITZ: BEND – An Anthology from The Erotica Consortium

PRE-ORDER GIVEAWAY and BLITZ: BEND – An Anthology from The Erotica Consortium

This is a huge announcement! I am in a spectacular anthology with some of the best romance and erotic writers on the planet at this moment!  :)  Here’s details about this author group we call The Erotica Consortium. Last December CD Reiss and I (JA Huss, in case you don’t know me) decided to start a new author group that only had authors who write erotic romances.  So each of us chose a few authors whose work we loved and whose talent we respected.  I chose Ella James and Shay Savage and CD chose Andrea Smith, Alessandra Torre, KI Lynn, K Bromberg, and CC Gibbs.  We decided we wanted a very small group – we have nine right now, and this is a good number for us. Small enough to get to know each other, large enough to make a difference. Since I’m like a super hyper book marketer, my… Read more »
