Julie’s Top Ten Favorite New-To-Me Authors Read In 2012
Personally, I think the first two, Cassandra Rose Clarke and CJ Roberts, while writing VASTLY different things, are both very talented writers. I think out of the entire list, these two ladies blow the others away. Not to take anything away from the authors listed below them, but if anyone could write literary erotica, it’s CJ Roberts, her books are – Just. That. Good. Not many people can pen a train-wreck of a relationship (and that’s putting it mildly) and have you loving the bad guy so completely by the end. And Cassandra’s robot love story was simply awesome. A true surprise.
Karina Halle is one of my new favorites that I read just about everything she writes – not something I can say for all authors – I’m typically pretty picky and will NOT cross genres. But Karina makes me laugh in her books – she’s the perfect pill after a stressful day.
Christina Zolendz, Amy A. Bartol and Rebekkah Ford all pen variations on paranormal romance and I enjoyed the new adult aspect to Fall From Grace and Inescapable. Rebekkah Ford is an online friend of mine who’s ghost story take a turn and never looks back. I look forward to her second book.
Aaren Overfield is a literary SF writer and Veil is an epic tale of how it all falls apart. I am eagerly awaiting his second book as well.
Sandman Slim by Richard Kadrey was a refreshing guy’s POV. A guy’s guy, right? Like all swearing up a freaking storm and bad-ass-ness. Sandman Slim, funny dude. I love the dude’s POV.
I’m working my way through Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Lux series. I’m not always open to young adult and high school settings, but this one is fun…it’s SF and I’m a SF lover.
Finally, Jarrah Loh writes about new adult cage fighting. Who knew, right? What a great story, I can’t wait to read the others. The more dudes we can get involved in NA, the better off we’ll be.
So there you go – 10 new-to-me authors – many of whom are Indies.

Hi!
I haven’t heard of any of these authors except Jennifer Armentrout. I’m hoping to get the Lux series for Christmas
