REVIEW

First, thank you to Heidi and Good Choice Reading for providing a copy of Lost In You for review.

Wow, this was a total roller coaster ride of a romance. This book has what you call complete and total opposites attracting. It’s like, these two people could not be farther apart. Ryan lives in a small town, has weird parents, his best friend is a girl, his dad is sort of a freak, and his mom has no spine.

Hadley is a pop star. I mean, we could pretty much leave it at that and be good with the whole opposites thing, but Hadley is, in my opinion, worse off than Ryan. She’s a mess. He’s a mess, yeah, but he’s a kid. He’s only seventeen. Hadley is a grown up and this girl is a hot freaking mess. Not that I have anything against the whole older cougar thing (LOL..she’s only twenty-two…but still, that’s what they’re called, right?) I don’t have a problem with it – seventeen and a half is hardly a big deal – and she didn’t know how old he was when she first saw him, so her first impression was strong. But if I was twenty-two and met a guy who was seventeen, it would be weird and it would have to be some powerful attraction for me to continue with it.

It took me a while to warm up to both of them to be honest. They did some stupid things. Ryan was being led around like a puppy, Hadley was paying for his stuff. It was a train wreck relationship. But then… stuff happens that I can’t tell you about because that’s a spoiler, but I’ll just say the relationship got a lot better… mostly because Ryan grew some cajones, even if it was almost by accident, and Hadley started listening to different people.

I liked Ryan a lot even though it took me a while. I think having most of the book be from his POV (that might be exaggerating, it was fairly equal, but it started with Ryan) was nice. I enjoyed watching him change. I didn’t see that much growth from Hadley, even though it was there. With Ryan, everything about him changed, and that’s probably because he was so young when the book starts. So he grew up physically, while Hadley grew up emotionally. It’s almost like Ryan grew into himself, while Hadley grew to accept herself.

I enjoyed the supporting characters as well, especially Cole and Dylan. All in all, this was a solid four star read and I enjoyed it a lot. It had a very unique spin on the whole new adult relationship and that’s a breath of fresh air for me, because honestly, I’m pretty sick of the whole bad boy meets good girl. Hadley wasn’t a bad girl by any means, but neither was Ryan a bad boy. It was sweet and romantic.
