COVER REVEAL: Tease by Cambria Hebert

About Cambria Hebert Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heven and Hell series, the new adult Death Escorts series, and the new adult Take it Off series. She loves a caramel latte, hates math and is afraid of chickens (yes, chickens). She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and children (both human and furry) where she is plotting her next book. REVIEW: Taming Cross by Ella James

REVIEW: Taming Cross by Ella James

REVIEW Wow – Taming Cross was so good.  One thing I  LOVE about Ella James is that her writing is so SMART.  She never assumes readers are stupid, she always assumes they’re smart.  And that’s how she writes her stories.  She researches stuff thoroughly so when you’re reading stuff in her stories about science or medicine, it’s all real.  I love that about her because I’m a huge science nerd and that’s how Ella and I first met… I read her YA SF book HERE and I just loved it. It had so much cool SF in there, especially for a YA book. She did the same thing in Selling Scarlett with Cross’ accident – all his hospital stuff was so well researched and I loved it. In Taming Cross, Cross is out of the hospital, he’s recovering from a horrific motorcycle accident, and he’s just sorta lost.  Poor Cross. … Read more »

FRIDAY NIGHT FREEBIE: Selling Scarlett and Taming Cross by Ella James

FRIDAY NIGHT FREEBIE: Selling Scarlett and Taming Cross by Ella James

Up for grabs this weekend are Selling Scarlett and Taming Cross, books one and two in the LOVE INC series by Ella James.  This weekend I’ll be giving away two copies of each, so there will be two winners.  But this contests ends tomorrow night and I’ll gift out the eBooks on Sunday, so HURRY UP AND ENTER! I’ve already reviewed Selling Scarlett and I’ll have my Taming Cross review on Sunday (I’m reading it right now). This series is so great.  And even though Selling Scarlett is about a young woman selling her virginity off to the highest bidder, that’s NOT what that book is about.  It’s so, SO much more.  Both of these books are about how far you’d go to help out a friend in need.  And in the case of Taming Cross, I’m only 10% in, but it’s about how far you’d go to help someone… Read more »

REVIEW: Torch by Cambria Hebert

REVIEW: Torch by Cambria Hebert

I liked it. I definitely liked it, I’m glad I read it and I highly recommend it. Let’s start with what I liked: I really enjoy the hero. He isn’t overdone, overrich, overperfect or any of those other irritating things that he could have been. He was just sweet, sexy, protective, strong, and so so steamy. His character felt real, and I loved that about this book. I can totally see the guy being protective of his truck (but letting her drive it…swoon) and I like how he doesn’t flaunt his achievements. I adore that he took her to meet his parents. I also really liked Katie. She’s a great heroine, and she isn’t stupid, whiny or weak. The mystery was relatively well done. A few of the clues, such as the tv broadcast were a bit too obvious and shoehorned in, but since I was reading this for… Read more »

REVIEW: Ruin by C.J. Scott

REVIEW: Ruin by C.J. Scott

Ruin by C.J. Scott surprised me in a very good way. I already knew I liked C.J. ‘s writing, but I haven’t had good luck with novella’s in the past. However I was worrying for nothing because after reading Ruin, she’s moved up to the short list of authors who if I know it is by her, I’ll be more than willing to read it. What I liked: As soon as it started, I was sucked in. Ruin is short, but don’t let that fool you. There is a ton of worldbuilding here, done so skillfully that it never becomes bothersome. Every single sub character has wants, and clear motivations. They have histories and rich, definable personalities. It’s very easy to see how the different people are going to class just because of what they want. I feel like I got to know them so well that they might as… Read more »
