REVIEW Seductive Shadows is the first book in The Shadows Series by Marni Mann and I have to say, this little book took me by surprise. It’s a slow book, building characters and setting up first before plot, but some authors can pull this off and Marni Mann is one of them. She gets us acquainted with Charlie and Cee, her alter ego at “The Mansion” where she works as a high-level prostitute. Contrary to most prostitutes, Charlie likes this job. Not only does she get paid well, but she gets to be someone else while she’s there – she gets to be Cee, her alter ego in the mask. Everyone at the mansion wears a mask so no one will be able to recognize the girls or clients on the street. It takes a while for Charlie to realize that this is not an ideal life she’s living. She… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and INTERVIEW: Drowning by Rachel Firasek
Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself and what inspired to write in this particular genre? Rachel: I’m a thirty-ish Texas native who corals two teens and husband that puts all of my heroes to shame. I have a sprawling spread of Mesquite trees and sheep in a hidden country community of Central Texas. I’m a switch. Sometimes I like paranormal, horror, or just a sweet romance, but it’s always romance. When I stumbled upon NA Contemporary romances, I just knew I’d found a home. When and why did you begin writing? Rachel: I started writing when I was a teen, but lost time and interest in my early twenties. When I hit thirty I decided to dig back in and to try to make a go of this gig. When did you first consider yourself a writer? Rachel: A writer or an author? I’ve always been a… Read more »
$50 GIVEAWAY: I Am Just Junco Omnibus Books 1-3 by JA Huss
EXCERPT FROM CLUTCH BOOK ONE Tier throws down his rifle, takes a deep breath and looks at Moju. “My charge is out, give me all the grenades.” Moju leans heavily against the wall, fishes around in his pockets, and pulls out three canisters and hands them over to Tier. And that’s when I hear the clicking from the hallway behind us. “Shit! They’re back!” From the hazy cloud of thick dust a massive amalgamation of bot parts appears. I scream and both Moju and I train our rifles on the thing that comes towards us. We blast it back a few paces and it’s forced to reassemble. I steal a look at Tier and he’s already pulling the pin on the first grenade and running back towards me yelling, “Fire in the hole!” Moju dives for the corner as Tier grabs me and yanks me to the floor. The blast… Read more »
Twelve Days of DexMas: Karina Halle – Experiment in Terror Day One: DARKHOUSE
To see other stops on the tour for reviews, guest posts, and excerpts click here or the tour button above. REVIEW I read Darkhouse last year. In fact, Darkhouse was the very first five star review on New Adult Addiction. Karina Halle was writing new adult way before it was popular and it all started with this series. Perry and Dex are one of my favorite couples of all time. I laughed so many times in this book–but I was also a little scared because it’s a ghost story. Or, well, a series of ghost stories actually. It’s got some horror stuff in it but the characters are what really make these Experiment in Terror books shine. Perry and Dex are far from perfect. In fact, Perry has some real self-image problems (some realistic, some not), she’s not successful in her career, she’s been in trouble in the past, and… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Layers by Sigal Ehrlich
EXCERPT I take a deep breath, and as I exhale, words gust out of my mouth. “Do you honestly believe that after you’ve made me come all the way here, and humiliated me for the last few precious minutes, I would want anything to do with you? Let alone spend more of my valuable time on you?” Not waiting for any reply I add, “Valuable time which you’ve already so disrespectfully consumed.” His dismay at my verbal attack is palpable. “Why, Mr. Stark, you were so talkative a few minutes ago. Have you lost your words? Do you need a moment?” Wow, did that just come out of my mouth? I’m terribly shaken, but boy am I ecstatic. Well done.
