Damn, I read a lot of books this year. But since I suck at keeping track of just about everything, I have no idea how many. I have no idea how many people visited this blog, close to 200K, I have no real idea how many followers I have unless the damn widget keeps REAL track for it for me, I have no idea how much I spend of graphics or contests. I’m an account’s nightmare. 😀 I don’t even know how many books I’ve sold, but Jana Aston made me a spreadsheet, so technically I could look. I’m just not a numbers person. In fact, I’m quite lazy when it comes to just about everything. Don’t let the prolific blog posts and books fool you. I’m damn lazy. BUT I do know what I like and these here are just SOME of the many great reads I found this… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Permanent by Kim Carmichael
EXCERPT “What does a good girl like little Lindsay prepare big bad Shane for lunch?” Ivan picked up the cooler. “Hey.” He reached for it, but Ivan held it out of his reach. “This is pretty heavy. She must think you’re a pig.” “Give it.” He set his jaw. “Either you open it, or I do.” Ivan put his finger on the button latch. “You’re an ass.” He reclaimed his cooler and opened it himself. They peered inside. “I think that’s Tupperware.” Ivan pointed. Everything in the cooler was neatly packaged and Shane hated to disturb it. “You can’t lose that stuff. Women hate it if you lose their Tupperware, and if it’s Lindsay’s it’s all brand new.” “I know. I’m not going to lose it.” He prayed he wouldn’t lose the Tupperware and pulled out the first plastic square. Ivan leaned in as Shane lifted the lid. “Wow.” “It’s… Read more »

REVIEW: Quintessentially Q by Pepper Winters
REVIEW: Monsters in the Dark is an aptly named title of this series because these two books are dark. This is probably the darkest erotica I’ve ever read, bearing in mind I don’t read a lot of it, but I’ve read my share of the captive books. In Tears of Tess, Tess is unsettled in what seems to be a perfect relationship with her boyfriend Brax. He’s very vanilla. Like, he’s the most boring vanilla guy who ever existed, so really, I can’t blame her in that respect. She needs a more adventurous sex life, but she thinks she loves Brax, so she’s hanging in there. While on a special trip to Mexico she’s kidnapped and falls into the hands of a brutal human trafficker. Q becomes Tess’ new owner later in the first book and I have to be honest, it took me the entire book to actually like… Read more »

Review: Elect by Rachel Van Dyken
Wow. So while the first book in The Eagle Elite series took me a bit to get into ( although I loved it once the plot began to come together,) Elect started off like a runaway freight train, full speed ahead. The short prologue set the bar high with edge of the seat suspense. Then the love triangle ripped my heart out, squeezing it into unrecognizable pieces. Generally, I’m not really a fan of love triangles. They often feel like forced devices that are inserted just to add a bit of drama and tension, without feeling authentic. Elect doesn’t suffer from that problem at all. I can see a very real reason why Tracey would be drawn to both Nixon and Chase. While Nixon is my personal choice, he truly has pushed her into Chase’s arms–literally–at every turn. Chase is the boy whose always there. Chase picks her up when… Read more »

REVIEW: Finding my Forever by Heidi McLaughlin
The Beaumont series just keeps getting better and better. I adored Forever my Girl – it was a sweet second chance romance that was just heartwarming. But I LOVED My Unexpected Forever so much. I really connected with that story. So when I started Finding My Forever I wasn’t sure what I was in for. I fell in love with Harrison and Katelyn and that whole story. But I tell you this book totally took me by surprise. This is the BEST Beaumont book so far. I fell in love with Jimmy and Jenna – and look they even have matching first name letters! This book takes all the other stories and piles on a heap of danger, mystery, and a perfect happily ever after. Every single time I thought I had this story wrapped up, I got another surprise! One I sat up and gasped! I was like –… Read more »
