GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Fury by Clarissa Wild

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Fury by Clarissa Wild

EXCERPT She sucks on her lip while I gaze at her, wondering what the hell this is all supposed to mean. It looks so goddamn innocent and strangely attractive at the same time. But I feel guilty for thinking about things like that right now. Shit. I should be dealing with this on my own. Instead I’m leaning toward a girl I don’t even know. Maybe it’s just the pain speaking, but I feel like I want to hug her tight. I barely know her, and yet I feel she is the only thing that’s keeping me standing right now. “You look like you could use some help,” she says hesitantly. I don’t understand this girl at all. I’ve been treating her like shit, and still she cares enough to want to help me. However, her offering me help frightens me. Not because it’s her, but because I apparently… Read more »

RELEASE DAY EXCERPT: Trapped by Ella James

RELEASE DAY EXCERPT: Trapped by Ella James

Purchase on Amazon Purchase on B&N EXCERPT I felt like the world had been ripped from underneath my feet. I was floating, weightless, like the steam that surrounded us, my only anchor Nick’s lips moving hard on mine. I kissed him back as hard as I could, my hands first on his broad shoulders, then his strong arms, and when I ran out of air I pulled back gasping. Nick was half an inch away, cradling my face between his hands and pressing kisses on my cheeks, my chin, my nose, my neck. Moving down my throat, heating me inside, and I was going to explode. My hands didn’t stay by my side. I just couldn’t keep them there. Neither could he. We didn’t hit the ball out of the park, but we definitely made it past first base. I remember thinking, as I kissed him, and he kissed me,… Read more »

Review of SPIN by CD Reiss

Review of SPIN by CD Reiss

“You need a man,” she said. “A rebound cock to fuck the sad right out of you.” Spin is a spin off (ha-ha) series by CD Reiss, but you do not need to read the original series Songs of Submission. Each series is about a different sibling, so we see Jonathan Drazen from Songs very briefly in this book. Spin is Theresa Drazen’s story. Theresa dated a politician for years. Until he fucked his speechwriter. Being the good girl that she is, she hasn’t publicly castrated him. Though broken up, she attends events with him, lending her support to his campaign. She’s torn about taking him back, until Antonio Spinelli blows into her life. Antonio has an impressive cock. But is he rebound cock or something more cock? He’s all wrong for her. All. Wrong. Theresa is an heiress. Antonio is a lawyer… with mob ties. Yet, Antonio makes an… Read more »

REVIEW and GIVEAWAY: Across the Wire by Stella Telleria

REVIEW and GIVEAWAY: Across the Wire by Stella Telleria

REVIEW Across the Wire was a compelling science fiction read that turns the world we know upside down. Mia, a veteran soldier from the Iraq War, finds herself alone, afraid, and suffering from the after effects of combat, death, and loss when she happens upon a man in the backstreets of San Francisco getting mugged. She helps the stranger and before she knows it, she’s agreeing to help him train a band of potential freedom fighters. Her recruiter left out one small detail… this place isn’t on Earth. It’s a parallel universe in which Earth has become the social opposite of what it is now. Instead of men being in charge, the entire society is ruled by women. And it’s not pretty. The men are slaves, they have no rights, and only exist to perpetuate the status quo of the oppressive matriarchal society. Upon her arrival Mia meets an unlikely… Read more »

EXCERPT and COVER REVEAL: Dirty Angels by Karina Halle

EXCERPT and COVER REVEAL: Dirty Angels by Karina Halle

Excerpt There was a strange moment of silence and I concentrated hard, trying to hear more than the obvious. They were all waiting. Waiting for the order. Waiting for the man in charge to speak. He did. It came from the left of me. His voice was cool, calm and collected. I didn’t have to see to know who had taken me. The man I’d heard so much about. The man I’d been taught to fear. “Gentleman,” he said and I could almost feel his infamous eyes on my body, “remove the bag.” There was a rustle and my face was immediately met with cool air that seized my lungs and bright lights that blinded me. I scrunched up my face, afraid to look, to see. Now it was all so real and I wanted to stay in the dark. “Who did this?” Suddenly cool hands were at my swollen… Read more »

Review: Emerge, Book 1 in the Evolve Series

Review: Emerge, Book 1 in the Evolve Series

Emerge, book one in S.E. Hall’s Evolve series, broke my heart and then slowly put the pieces back together. There may still be a few still missing, but I’m hopeful that book 2 will help mend those too. I’m late to this series and I’m kicking myself in the ass for not bumping this up to the top of my reading list. I have had this book in my Kindle library for months, MONTHS! What was I waiting for?  If you have it in your library, stop what you’re reading and start this series. You won’t be sorry. S. E. Hall has created a sweet and endearing book consisting of likeable characters who tell a story about love, friendship, loyalty and growing up. I connected with the characters immediately. Throughout the book, I felt like I was right there, experiencing each moment with the crew of characters. I channeled my… Read more »
