Now check out this awesome excerpt… it’s one of my favorite parts! Excerpt: I got out of the shower and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba. The door opened, and like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom. “Think I need a shower, too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt. What? Now? Trying to play it cool and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his track pants and the obvious bulge he sported. Oh. Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big? Just, yeah. That… Read more »

Tour Review & Giveaway: Time of Possession by Jami Davenport

Tour Review & Giveaway: Time of Possession by Jami Davenport

Review: So when I saw this book circulating the blog tour sign-ups, I knew I had to read. For one, the name of this series is what caught my eye. If you know me on Facebook, you know that one of my book BFFs/Twinsie and I reference how we want to star in a realty TV show with hot lumberjacks (Lumberjacks Gone Wild)… and did I mention she’s from the Seattle area. So for that reason alone I knew I had to read this book. Another reason, hot football players. ‘Nuff said. I liked this book. It took me a bit to really get into it and connect with the characters, but once I did, it was a pleasant and fun read. I love a good hero in a story, and Brett is certainly book boyfriend material. Estie was the quintessential sweet, nice, and charming heroine that a reader… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Battle Not With Monsters by Overton Scott

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Battle Not With Monsters by Overton Scott

EXCERPT She sat, breathing in the medicinal odor, the smell of disinfectant. She took out the phone again. Deliberated for a few seconds, turning the phone in her fingers. She made her decision and touched the screen. Touched it again for speed dial. Scrolled through the list of names, until she found the one she wanted. Her finger hovered over it, then descended. Two thousand miles away in San Diego her mother’s phone rang. And rang. And rang again. Neen disconnected and punched in another number with the same area code. Her sister Jennifer picked up on the third ring. “It’s me,” said Neen. “Hey, stranger. Where are you?” “I’m in Dallas.” “Oh. I thought you might be here in town.” “Nope. Still in Dallas.” “What’s it been? Nine months? That’s practically a lifetime commitment from you. You must like it there.” A little bit less than yesterday, Neen thought…. Read more »

Excerpt and Review: Black Rose by F.X. Scully

Excerpt and Review: Black Rose by F.X. Scully

Excerpt: He presses our mouths together gently and my stomach catapults and flutters so much it feels like I’m on some kind of roller coaster ride. And as his tongue finally darts out to taste mine, I realize that I am. That all this time I have been. From the moment I saw him at the hospital to the second he came to my rescue out in the driveway. His strange behavior at The L, the way he’s been looking at me lately. It’s been one big long ride, leading up to this moment. The moment where my legs turn to butter and an embarrassing little moan escapes me and I suddenly realize not every ride is a good idea. Review by Leah Oh, how I have been waiting to get my hands on this story.  On Luke’s story.I’ve loved him since book one, and was dying for more from him in… Read more »

Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Better as a Memory by Marilyn Baxter

Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Better as a Memory by Marilyn Baxter

REVIEW: Better as a Memory is a fun, quick read that I enjoyed. It’s a tale of second chance romance between former college sweethearts. Tori and Max’s chemistry is apparent from the get go, which helps make this story a fast, quick and enjoyable read. The two characters not only have charisma, they have the book chemistry that makes me want to read about them more. We meet Tori first who is contemplating taking on Max as a client. Max is back in town after years of being away with a goal in his mind to get his inheritance and start building his own dream.  Throughout quick memories and fast dialogue, the reader learns quickly that there’s much more to this couple’s relationship-past and future. While I really enjoyed this story, a lot happens quickly, and what I missed was the character development and story hook that I think I… Read more »

$20 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Carrier by Ann Tibbets

$20 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Carrier by Ann Tibbets

, Welcome to my stop of the CARRIER Blog Tour!  I hope you enjoy the excerpt, the trailer, and the giveaway!  EXCERPT On a stage behind the man with the headphones were several girls wearing bikinis, decorated with fluorescent body paint. They were puppetlike as they danced and glistened off the strobe lights. I was briefly mesmerized by their movements. They danced the same routine in tight synchronized motions, and I involuntarily bobbed my head along to the beat of the music. Sonya caught me and grinned. “Cool, huh?” I stopped a moment, then nodded and let my head bob all it wanted. I liked it. The room’s power pumped me with false confidence. Deeper through the crowd we reached the dead center of the dance floor. Sonya stopped for a moment and lifted her arms over her head, dancing along with the rest of the crowd. I did the… Read more »
