Tour Review: Slope of Love by Melissa Foster

Tour Review: Slope of Love by Melissa Foster

Slope of Love was a charming, sweet and quick Sunday read for me. It made me swoon for Rush and hold my breath in anticipation throughout most of the book. This is the first time I read something by Melissa Foster, but it won’t be the last. Lately with my busy work schedule and constant Facebook stalking, I have been in a reading haze. Everything I pick up is just, eh. I picked up Slope of Love on Mother’s Day and quickly read the entire book in one sitting. It was a perfect book to get me out of my reading funk, allowed me to escape the realty of my kids screaming and laundry waiting to be folded. This book was 100% cute, addicting, and scrumptious. The story opens up with Rush and Jayla, two all american Olympic gold skiers and best friends, volunteering to help teenagers in a Colorado… Read more »

Release Day Teaser! Very Wicked Things by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Release Day Teaser! Very Wicked Things by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Teaser Excerpt from VERY WICKED THINGS I got out of the shower and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba. The door opened, and like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom. “Think I need a shower, too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt. What? Now? Trying to play it cool and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his track pants and the obvious bulge he sported. Oh. Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big? Just, yeah. That thought got stuck in my head and went round and round. “You staying?” he asked, a grin working his face. Pleased at my open admiration, probably. “No,” I said, but made no move to go. ‘Cause I had no shame when it came to catching a… Read more »

Tour Review: Picture Perfect by Elisabeth Grace

Tour Review: Picture Perfect by Elisabeth Grace

Picture Perfect was damn near perfect. It was exactly what I was looking for when I started reading it. It’s not too deep, but it draws you in with the first chapter and makes you not want to put it down once you start. This kind of book is my favorite… the kind where I’m smiling while reading and not realizing it until the hubs notices and says, “Good book?”. Picture Perfect is the second in the Limelight series, and the first book I read from this author, so you can read this as a standalone without confusion. Recently single Skye (daughter of a big-time mayor and possible candidate for Senate) finally goes out on a girls night with her friend to forget about her ex-boyfriend and is ready to start her next chapter in her life, beginning with her new career as assistant at a up and coming PR… Read more »

Cover Reveal: Pretty Instincts by S.E. Hall

Cover Reveal: Pretty Instincts by S.E. Hall

Who is a fan of S.E. Hall? Well she has a new book coming out and it looks great. Check out this exclusive excerpt…    EXCERPT: He rubs his chin between thumb and forefinger and considers me, but in a classy, eyes above the neck kind of way. This time the right brow lifts in contemplation as he slides his tongue back and forth across that enchanting bottom lip. This guy- women worldwide would pay top dollar but for the chance to watch him do anything, Algebra even; trust me. And I’ve learned another telling habit of his, I’m cataloguing strictly in case he does end up on the bus. Left eyebrow up is playful and joking, right brow means serious and analyzing. “Why don’t you let me try this, since you suck at it? Cannon Blackwell, not a hitchhiker.” He offers his right hand. “And you are?”    … Read more »

A Surprise from Ilsa Madden-Mills

A Surprise from Ilsa Madden-Mills

Because Ilsa Madden-Mills fell in love with her beautifully flawed characters in Very Wicked Things, she penned Very Wicked Beginnings as a prequel novella to the book, featuring the story of football star Cuba Hudson and ballerina Dovey Beckham. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, all May proceeds from the sale of the novella will be donated to The Keith Milano Memorial Fund which benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). www.afsp.org Very Wicked Beginnings Excerpt from Chapter One  “Two things about me: I play football—and girls.” –Cuba Hudson I wanted the gorgeous girl in the window. More specifically, I wanted the dark-haired girl dancing inside the Symthe Arts Building as I stood outside on the twenty yard line at football practice, fixated on her when I should have been focused on the line of scrimmage. I adjusted my helmet and squinted through the afternoon Dallas sun. Did I… Read more »

SPOTLIGHT: Blackout by F.X. Scully

SPOTLIGHT: Blackout by F.X. Scully

EXCERPT FROM AUTHOR: Are you serious?” I ask, yanking the covers off the bed.            “What the…?” He shoots up from his prone position, squinting at me.            “It’s freezing, Ross. We have no heat, no light. Why didn’t you pay these damn bills?” I ask, tossing the papers on the bed in front of him.            “I paid them. I always pay them. “ He’s hugging himself, rubbing his hands up and down his bare arms. “What the fuck are you talking about?”            All I can do is glare in response. “Fix it,” I say. “In the meantime, I’ll be at Coco’s.” I grab a backpack from the foot of the bed and begin shoving clothes inside. “I mean really? What’s so hard about paying the bills? What’s so difficult about making sure we don’t fucking freeze to death? Is it so hard to something right, Ross? Is it? Are you that… Read more »
