Felony Ever After….

Felony Ever After….

Thirteen authors, one story. I didn’t know what I was getting into, but I’m glad I opened and read. This book is fun, humorous, witty. and at times, sweet. A sweet southern girl, new to NYC finds herself in a bit of a situation when her cab ride turns adventurous one night. Verity, a 22 year old Florida girl hails a cab one late night after work. Before she realizes it, a tattoo stud jumps in to share the cab ride with her. Immediate attraction and fun banter persists about judging by appearances and accepting that opposites do attract. When the tattoo stud actually turns to be a saving grace, Verity’s life is rocked. Battling with coming to terms she may be attracted to a tattoo bad boy wrecks havoc on her day to day life. The chemistry between Hudson, the bad boy tattoo bike messenger, and Verity is instant…. Read more »

Review: Last Call by Staci Hart

Review: Last Call by Staci Hart

It’s finally here, Tricky and Rose, the end of the Bad Habits series. Kristi’s Review: I love this series. I was introduced to Staci Hart from a friend last summer. After I devoured With a Twist, I was hooked on this gang of friends. My favorite reads are the series that are also standalones; where each book has a different couple in focus, but the same characters are in it. From book 1, Rose and Tricky have intrigued me. I couldn’t wait for their story to be told. In this last installment, the angst and history between Rose and Patrick erupts. Finally, finally, I got inside their heads and felt their emotions. I loved getting to understand Rose more, she is so heartbroken, yet stoic over their ended relationship, my heart just bled and broke for her throughout the book. I had a love and hate feeling being inside Tricky’s… Read more »

Review: The Score by Elle Kennedy

Review: The Score by Elle Kennedy

What can I say… I love this series. In fact, it’s one of my favorite new adult series. I fell in love with these characters in book 1, The Deal, and my heart grew bigger after reading the The Mistake. In The Score, we get a glimpse into Dean’s life. The big man on campus, he’s a self declared hottie who likes to have sex. Lots and lots of sex, with lots and lots of different ladies. Allie is Hannah’s roomie. (Hannah is Garrett’s girlfriend from The Deal.) She is the typical college good girl. She likes relationships. She likes to be close to home to help her dad. She likes honesty and commitment. When she breaks up with her boyfriend of many years, she needs an escape. A physical place to get away to think things through and where no one can track her down. Allie ends up trying… Read more »

Never Tear Us Apart by Monica Murphy

Never Tear Us Apart by Monica Murphy

This book gave me all the feels. Once it arrived on my Kindle, and discovered what it is really about, I was at first hesitant to read this story. It’s a bit darker than my usual read, but the execution of the chapters captivated my attention. Told in dual POV, from past and present times, I felt that I became a part of this story. I was right there with Katie at the amusement park when she was 12, I was right there with Will when he was talking to the detective and understanding what monster his father really is, and right there when the past catches up to their future.   Throughout the book I was rooting for both Katherine and Ethan. I was desperate for her to put the pieces together, to truly feel who Ethan is, and understand why the secrecy of his identity was a much… Read more »

TOUR REVIEW and EXCERPT: Until I Met You by S.L. Scott

TOUR REVIEW and EXCERPT: Until I Met You by S.L. Scott

Excerpt: “Do you want ice cream?” She hit him with one surprise after another, and he replied, “It’s freezing out here. How about a coffee?” “I don’t like coffee.” “Wow, a New Yorker who doesn’t like coffee.” Taking her by the arm, he stopped her. “Are you going to tell me anything about yourself?” “I just told you I don’t like coffee. That’s something.” He sighed. “I’m serious, Jude.” His emotional sigh was wearing on her and she gave him the most honest answer she could. “Not if I can get away with it.” He looked into her blue eyes. Under a bright fluorescent light of a convenience store, he could see they were tinged in green with champagne centers. They were the most unique eyes he had ever seen. She was the most unique woman he had ever met. Now he felt bad for making her unhappy, so he… Read more »

Funny, Witty, and Hilarious New Book Rec!

Funny, Witty, and Hilarious New Book Rec!

I was in a slump this month. You know when you read a handful of good books and can’t get into anything else… A friend recommended Barbie Bohrman’s Playing it Safe, and I’m so thankful she did! This book made me laugh out loud. Julia is a hilarious… she made me snort. Julia is in a rut in the guy department. She’s had some real stellar dates, and I mean that totally sarcastically. Her best friend moved away, and she feels like her life is on the spin cycle. Enter flirty and drop dead gorgeous Alex. Alex looks like Josh Holloway. (swoon)When he and Julia flirt, the banter is off the charts adorable, hot, and made me connect to them in the best way! The secondary characters in this story only added to the fun and charming journey. Alex and Julia, a kinda friends to lover story which made me… Read more »

If you know me, you know Ilsa is my FAVORITE NA author. I adored her Briarcrest Academy series, was a fan from the get go. But this story? It’s my favorite. There’s something about Declan that won me over. Or was it Elizabeth? Or was it them as a couple? Elizabeth lives simply. She’s going to college on academic scholarship, has a traumatic past, and lives by one simple rule… no serious relationship—which means no dating. One night stands only. Declan is a hottie. He’s so perfect in every way. Gorgeous, bad boy, tattoos, underground fighter, and most of all… loves classic British literature. (I… Read more »

$100 GC plus goodies GIVEAWAY… Wrong releases TODAY!

REVIEW: Wrong is so right, in every way. It is such an enjoyable read. I laughed out loud, snorted really. Sophie’s mind works just like mine! Everything I think about, comes out of Sophie’s mouth. And I love it. Sophie is a good girl, putting herself through college by working at a local campus coffee shop. She has a boyfriend, but also a weekly crush on an older man. When she runs into her crush in an awkward position, she wants to die of mortification. Although it’s awkward and embarrassing, it’s also endearing and ends up being a fantastic love story! Luke is the sexy, older alpha we all love. Sophie is the innocent and ridiculously adorable love of his life. Add some fun college friends, a bitch of a whore, and an adorable toddler-who steals a scene or two, and this is the most perfect read, EVER! If you’re… Read more »

REVIEW: Art and Soul by Brittainy C Cherry

REVIEW: Art and Soul by Brittainy C Cherry

I think I found a new “go to” author. And she’s adorable and her words melt my heart, make me feel, and lift my spirits. Brittainy has a way of telling a story in a way that makes my emotions surface in such a way that I’m smiling while I’m crying. Her words, strewn together, in such a particular way that makes my heart skip a beat and my breath catch on a gasp, or sometimes a sigh. When I need to feel, to escape my busy life for a few hours, I know who to turn to for that escape. I picked up Art and Soul on a whim really. My friend Bev said she beta read The Air He Breathes, and while I was waiting for that to release, she recommended Art and Soul. So I picked it up. And devoured it. It was so different that what… Read more »
