Happy Summer! Here are our 5 TOP SUMMER Reads so far…

I don’t know about you, but all my friends (teacher friends especially), ask me what they should read in the summer. I’m always looking for a good book, but there’s something about reading a good book in the summer that makes my day. Maybe it’s sitting outside, next to the pool, with a fruity cocktail in hand…but I especially love reading a good book in the summer. Whenever I’m asked by someone, what should they read, it always brings on a conversation, and a lot of questions. So I asked one of my book friends what HER top five are, and well, here is our SUMMER LIST, so far. We decided to keep it to books released thus far this year… so January 2015 book until now. First up… MICHELLE NEW’s PICKS… Michelle’s Top Five Three, Two, One (321)-JA Huss: This was the IT book for me. It was raw,… Read more »

GIVEAWAY AND BLOG HOP: MEET ME IN THE DARK… This book is a top read for me.

GIVEAWAY AND BLOG HOP: MEET ME IN THE DARK… This book is a top read for me.

This week NAA took place on a blog hop that focused on two of my all time favorite characters, Merc and Sydney. If you know me you know I claimed Merc a long time ago, it really was love a first read. The words that come out of his mouth, the way he works and how he gets anything he wants and will use whatever means possible to get it. I was so excited when JA told me she was bringing me MERC (I might have even begged for it).  I love Sydney just as much something about a girl that don’t take no shit and can kick ass if needed. I feel like Sydney and I could be BFF even though I wanted to not like her cause she has MERC after all. MEET ME IN THE DARK is my top read of 2015! I love the characters,… Read more »

REVIEW: Sweet Ache by K Bromberg by Guest Blogger, Michelle New

REVIEW: Sweet Ache by K Bromberg by Guest Blogger, Michelle New

We are THRILLED to welcome our good friend, Michelle New, to review her favorite books with us! First review: Sweet Ache! THE PLAYERS: Quinlin Westin. Colton’s sister. College student and girl who is tired of falling for the bad boy and having her heart broken. Hawkin Play. Lead singer of Bent. Bad boy rock star and a guy with a heart that survived all the damage. A choice made based on a promise, land Hawkin on a college campus playing rock star turned professor when the TA with a back bone catches his eye. Quinlin might get a little weak in the knees when she stands too close, but she sure isn’t going to let him know just how much he’s getting to her. Ready to keep her distance, Hawkins plays on her attraction and wears her down. Wanting one thing from her but getting so much more than he bargained for…. Read more »

Bomb and Guns…why Spencer Shrike is my top Book boyfriend

Bomb and Guns…why Spencer Shrike is my top Book boyfriend

This week NAA took place in a blog hop that focused on Spencer Shrike and Veronica Vaughn. Here’s my final thoughts and recap…. bear with me…After all, Spencer is the one for me! I’m 100% invested in ALL the characters from the Rook and Ronin series. I’m so invested that I’ve become fully delusional in my love affair with my (now) number one book boyfriend-of all time. Bomb is a novella about said book boyfriend, Spencer Shrike. I’ve waited months to get my hands on this book. I claimed Spencer Shrike as my top 2013 book boyfriend months ago after I read the Rook and Ronin series, all three in a week. He was such a charmer in those books that I was beyond delighted when the author told me she was planning a book just for Spencer. It made me have a girl crush on her and I happily… Read more »

Tour Review: Under the Spotlight by Angie Stanton

Tour Review: Under the Spotlight by Angie Stanton

Kristi’s Review: OK, so I’m going to be honest. When I signed up for this tour, I solely signed up for this based on this amazing cover. It’s gorgeous and made me want to read more about this couple. When I began reading the story this past weekend, I realized I read book one, Rock and a Hard Place, eons ago! Squee, I love those little surprises. But I’m sorta out of the loop—and I need to catch up and read book two, Snapshot, to complete the brothers! This book has two spunky characters and if I’m truthful, Garrett was a bit of a prick in the beginning (and middle)…but I kinda love the jerks even the ones who are jerks for most of the book. Then there’s Riley. Riley — damn she is strong to put up with a mother like hers. I don’t blame her for being hesitant… Read more »

TRUST by Ella Frank – Review

TRUST by Ella Frank – Review

First and foremost, I’m so sad that this story has come to an end. Logan and Tate are two of my favorite characters ever. EVER. I have read hundreds of books, probably thousands of books, in a variety of genres, and these two men are among the few characters who will live with me forever. The end of their journey was rough. As they say, THE FEELS. Ella took a strong plot and spun it in a Tate and Logan web that was magical because it was the special story of these two characters and their love for one another. In the end, this is the culmination of a beautiful love story – a beautiful, sexy, hot as hell love story, but a truly beautiful love story. If you’re looking for a Happily Ever After, you’ve found one. The road is bumpy, and the destination isn’t traditional, but the trip… Read more »

TOUR Review: Under the Influence by L.B. Simmons

TOUR Review: Under the Influence by L.B. Simmons

Kristi’s Review: I’ve read this author before, and this book is a different read from her…and while it’s not my favorite, I highly enjoyed it. I really liked getting to know these two characters and the paths their lives took them on. Years ago, Dalton and Spencer meet and the connection is instant, but friendship is all that they allow themselves to have. Dalton is the older, bad-boy with the heart of gold who pines for Spencer, protecting her for afar. He allows just so much connection in the form of friendship, but Spencer is drawn to him, there’s chemistry and she finds herself totally captivated by him. I am an angst whore and I wanted more build up, more angst, more pining. I do love the secondary characters, especially Cassie who helps Spencer make Dalton confront his emotions and true feelings. Once these two admit their feelings, their connection… Read more »

Our weekend is BOOKED…Nic’s picks for a great weekend read!

Our weekend is BOOKED…Nic’s picks for a great weekend read!

TGIF… one thing we love here at NAA is reading over the weekend. Nothing  is better than being able to relax on the comfy sofa with a good book and a steaming cup of coffee, or big full glass of wine, OK, a BOTTLE of wine. We thought it would be fun to give you a mini list of books and reviews in case you’re looking for a good book this weekend. Nic’s pick this weekend is Hate F*@k: Part Two (The Horus Group Book 2) by Ainsley Booth Hate F*@k: Part Two picks up right where Part One left off and gets right to it. Hailey is pissed, hurt and confused on what is going on. She doesn’t know if Cole is covering for a client or being set up, but she does know she is his alibi. Cole is doing what he does best covering up and cleaning… Read more »

Tour Review: The Gentleman Mentor by Kendall Ryan

Tour Review: The Gentleman Mentor by Kendall Ryan

Kristi’s Review: I really enjoyed this story. It’s grasped my attention from page one. Under my direction and guidance, women learn seduction techniques, how to achieve climax with and without a partner, explore physical gratification, and more… Ahem… where do I sign up? This is a story about Brielle, a shy, beautiful woman wanting to seduce her best friend, but doesn’t know where to begin. She finds an ad for a Gentleman Mentor, who will, ahem, teach you all you need to know in the bedroom…and how to get what you want. I enjoyed the banter between “Dom” and Brielle right from the get-go. The email exchanges were one of my favorite things in the book and I only wish there was more. Brielle thoughts and questions are on every woman’s mind…or at least crossed every woman’s mind at one point. Am I flirting correctly? How do I get a… Read more »
