SALE ALERT… Check out this excerpt and make sure to ONE-CLICK this while it’s on sale for only $1.99! EXCERPT: There’s nothing but me and Gemma. It feels like we’re the only people left in the world. And it scares me, because she’s all I have to hold onto. I can’t be sure she won’t let go. There’s no official camping at the lighthouse, so Gemma takes the bus off-roading, much like we did yesterday, and we come to a stop in a small valley in the middle of a field of cows. They all swivel their heads to stare at us with dark, inquisitive eyes. There’s a small house up on the hill but we can barely see it. Horses graze on the hill’s terraced grooves. Beyond the hills, there’s nothing but ocean. I breathe in deep, feeling strangely nervous and shaky. I don’t think it’s just about being… Read more »

SPOTLIGHT Excerpt: Love, in English by Karina Halle
~Excerpt~ “You know, I can’t pretend any longer,” I blurted out, surprising myself. I had reached my limit. He had stopped, standing absolutely still, his back to me. He was either going to start walking again or he was going to turn around. I held in my breath. With his back to me he said, “No. We can’t. I have one last question for you.” That wasn’t what I expected. Questions were getting dangerous. “What?” I asked softly. He slowly turned around. “What is love? In English.” I raised my brows. “Love, in English, is love?” “What is it in Spanish?” I was so enthralled by his hypnotic eyes, I could barely remember. “Amore?” He shook his head ever so slightly. “No. Love in Spanish is you.” Then he turned around, heading back. This was bullshit. I got out of my chair and ran for him. I grabbed him by… Read more »
EXCERPT and COVER REVEAL: Dirty Angels by Karina Halle
Excerpt There was a strange moment of silence and I concentrated hard, trying to hear more than the obvious. They were all waiting. Waiting for the order. Waiting for the man in charge to speak. He did. It came from the left of me. His voice was cool, calm and collected. I didn’t have to see to know who had taken me. The man I’d heard so much about. The man I’d been taught to fear. “Gentleman,” he said and I could almost feel his infamous eyes on my body, “remove the bag.” There was a rustle and my face was immediately met with cool air that seized my lungs and bright lights that blinded me. I scrunched up my face, afraid to look, to see. Now it was all so real and I wanted to stay in the dark. “Who did this?” Suddenly cool hands were at my swollen… Read more »

Twelve Days of DexMas: Karina Halle – Experiment in Terror Day One: DARKHOUSE
To see other stops on the tour for reviews, guest posts, and excerpts click here or the tour button above. REVIEW I read Darkhouse last year. In fact, Darkhouse was the very first five star review on New Adult Addiction. Karina Halle was writing new adult way before it was popular and it all started with this series. Perry and Dex are one of my favorite couples of all time. I laughed so many times in this book–but I was also a little scared because it’s a ghost story. Or, well, a series of ghost stories actually. It’s got some horror stuff in it but the characters are what really make these Experiment in Terror books shine. Perry and Dex are far from perfect. In fact, Perry has some real self-image problems (some realistic, some not), she’s not successful in her career, she’s been in trouble in the past, and… Read more »
