Withering Hope by Layla Hagen
Withering Hope As an avid reader, there are times when I get in a book funk. I can’t seem to get into any stories I read. This usually depends on my mood, or that I’m tired of reading the same old story, just with different characters. If you’re in a funk, tired of reading the same story, you need to one-click Withering Hope. Withering Hope is refreshing as it is different. Yes, it’s a contemporary romance. Yes, there isn’t much of a twist. Yes, there is a HEA, however it is bittersweet. But Layla took the classic love tale and told it in a unique and revitalizing way. Aimee is on her way to Brazil to marry her lover and best friend, Chris. Friends since they were infants, inseparable throughout the childhood, college sweethearts-a devoted couple who are about to begin their next chapter in life together. While Aimee sets… Read more »

Giveaway and Cover Reveal: Found in Us by Layla Hagen
**This can be read as a STANDALONE. The second book in the Lost series tells Jessica and Parker’s story. ** All Jessica wants—as a college graduate — is to be a good girl. She landed the job of her dreams at a museum and is trying to eliminate temptations. No more short skirts (when she can help it). No wild parties. And no men. She particularly excels at that last thing. . . Until her path crosses Parker’s. Again. Jessica remembers the last time their paths crossed very well. She was left with a seriously bruised ego. She knows it would be best to avoid him altogether. But the charming Brit makes it hard for her to elude his electrifying pull. He is as irresistible as he is captivating. And enigmatic. Because underneath the sleek Armani suit and the sweet British accent that makes her crave his touch, Parker isn’t… Read more »
TOUR REVIEW: Lost in Us by Layla Hagen
Who doesn’t need some liquid courage now and again? I really enjoyed this book and found myself in my much loved angst state over James and Serena’s relationship. If you’re looking for a romantic, alpha-rich male meets smart and innocent college senior, story filled with angst, this is the book for you! This story starts out strong with a heart broken Serena enjoying a girls night out with her best friend and roomie. In walks ladies man millionaire, late 20’s hunk, who is pompous and conceited, yet makes Serena (and my) panties damp with his quick wit and bold statements. James is a known playboy, who never commits to a relationship, right? I am the center of his world tonight. But what about tomorrow? -Serena, Lost in Us Leaving Serena wanting more after a simple conversation, she decides to take James up on his offer for a surprise date, and… Read more »
GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Lost by Layla Hagen
EXCERPT When the speech starts, something about her voice is not right. But when I look up from the brochure, I forget about her voice altogether. Her eyes. I know that look in them. Haunted and lost. I sit up straight in my seat and tune in to her speech. I frown as I start to pay attention to what she says. She has some kind of notes in front of her, but she’s not reading them. I don’t think she’s saying what she’s written on them at all. She speaks of hardship, loss, and the ability to put everything behind through hard work. I have a hunch she’s referring to something more than what’s happening here today. Her porcelain skin gets paler with every word. Her eyes become glassy before long, and then she tucks a strand of black hair behind her ear. I’m sure as hell she wiped… Read more »
$100 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Lost in Us by Layla Hagen
EXCERPT My heart throbs against my ribcage as I put one palm on his chest and then the other, not quite meeting his eyes, gazing at the top button of his shirt instead. His heart drums under my fingers, with a lightning-quick rhythm that matches my own. I bite my lip and close my eyes. Somehow, I think I will find the courage I seek easier, if I let the darkness behind my eyelids guide me, instead of the image of him. I take a deep breath—his intoxicating ocean and musk scent filling me. The skin on my fingers prickles, as I slide my fingers upward, touching the warm skin on his neck. Now that my eyes are closed, all my other senses are awake, ravaging me. I lean into him slowly, very slowly. I wish he’d take mercy on me and take the lead, because kissing him seems to… Read more »
