Dirty, Dark & Deadly – My Thoughts The Dirty, Dark & Deadly series is like an onion. Just when you think you get it – you know what’s going on and who’s on who’s side and what everyone’s motives are – JA Huss peels back another layer of OMG, and you realize, you didn’t know squat. I typically go for the more traditional romance stories, but the story of James and Harper really got me in the feels. Oh, it wasn’t sappy in the least. But, it demonstrated how, even the most hardened people can find love with the right person. And, it introduced me to teenage Sasha, a.k.a. Assassin Smurf, who we will be getting to know even better in a very short time… Want to interact with J.A. Huss and her legion of super fans? $50 GIVEAWAY and COVER REVEAL: Wasted Lust by JA Huss
EXCERPT JAX “Let’s talk about kissing.” “What,” Sasha laughs. “Kissing?” I smile with her. Both at her willingness to drop the topic of money and where it comes from and her pleasure at the new topic. “Specifically, the kisses we’ve shared.” “We haven’t shared any kisses, Agent Jax.” But she says it with a sly grin as she lifts the glass of Tokay and takes a sip. I watch her throat as she swallows, and then wish I could lick the sweet sheen of sugar left over on her lips before her tongue darts out to swipe it away. I scoot closer to her on the curve of the bench and while she remains seated in her spot, her upper body instinctively pulls back from my approach. “You liked it though.” “I didn’t actually,” she says. Her pupils are dilating before my eyes and her breathing picks up a notch…. Read more »

Who’s That Girl: A Look at Ashleigh from Taut; The Ford Book (Rook and Ronin Spinoff)
This week for our weekly BLOG HOP, we are taking a look at Slack and Taut…and that means a whole lotta FORD. I know there’s a ton of Ford fans out there… so this is gonna be a great week recapping these characters. Today’s stop is all about ASHLEIGH… Who’s That Girl? Ashleigh Li is desperate. Stranded in the middle of a blizzard with her three month old daughter, she has no choice but to accept the handsome stranger’s help. It also tells a lot about Ashleigh, she is a good read of character. She, like Ford, is highly intelligent and wise beyond her twenty-three years of age. Ash maybe broken and lost, but she is still one of the strongest characters I have ever read. I loved her determination, openness and willingness to help Ford, even when she was at one of her lowest points. Make sure to stop… Read more »
$50 GIVEAWAY NEW RELEASE: Meet Me In The Dark (A Dark Suspense) by JA Huss
It’s finally here! The Merc Book! This is a standalone book, so if you are into the “dark” reads and have not read any other book by me, you can jump right in. I have two exclusive excerpts for you. One is here and one is on my author page. EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT “I’m waiting, bobcat,” he says. I cringe at the name. It’s so degrading. But I’m running on instincts now. The training has taken over and I’m powerless to stop it, even if I wanted to. And I don’t. So, “More, please,” is my response. “More what?” “Take it all, Case. You told me eight years ago you owned me. So take it. Take me. Take me the way you promised when you left me behind to die.” His hands are under my shoulders, urging me to sit up. I comply. Because that’s my job here tonight. And then… Read more »
$15 GIVEAWAY and SNEAK PEAK COVER REVEAL: Meet Me In The Dark by JA Huss
EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT I study his back as he flips some more pancakes. He’s hot. I didn’t want to tell him that the last time I thought about it. But there’s no denying. Merric Case gets what he wants because a) he doesn’t take no for an answer, b) he’s got the skills to back up his “requests”, and c) he’s handsome. He fills his plate, walks around the counter, and takes the barstool next to me. “Eat,” he says, pointing to my plate with a fork. A second later he’s stuffing his face. I take a bite, then a few more before gulping some juice and coming up for air. “Mmmm. It’s good.” “I know,” he says smugly. “I have two talents, Sydney Channing. Killing and cooking.” I nod and stare at my food. Right. “So do you want me to take you to the truck?” I take a bite… Read more »
Happy ONE Year Anniversary to Guns by JA Huss
Any one who knows me, knows I love Spencer Shrike with a passion. I claimed him as my top book boyfriend over a year and a half ago… and one year ago today, Guns: The Spencer Book released. Julie gave me an ARC on my 28th birthday and I cried. I cried a lot through this book; because her characters became real to me. I fell in love with #theteam and wanted to be a part of their world. I wasn’t ready to say good-bye. The Rook and Ronin series and spin-offs also led to an online group of ladies, Julie’s street team, who became a family of friends throughout this series. I continue to interact with these ladies on a daily basis, many who I chit chat with on the phone, send funny texts, or simply PM. We are a close knit group of friends, all who came together… Read more »
Our Weekend is BOOKED… our picks for a great weekend read!
TGIF… one thing we love here at NAA is reading over the weekend. Nothing is better than being able to relax on the comfy sofa with a good book and a steaming cup of coffee, or big full glass of wine, OK, a BOTTLE of wine. We thought it would be fun to give you a mini list of books and reviews in case you’re looking for a good book this weekend. Kristi’s Pick: Getting Dirty by Mia Storm In this book, which is loosely based on the author’s own experiences– is a hot, forbidden love tale. I love a book that features an older guy and a younger girl, and this didn’t disappoint. How far would you go for true love? How much would you risk? If you like this kind of taboo read, one-click this book and fall in love with Caiden and Blaire. To read the… Read more »
REVIEW: Isolated
About Isolated: Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome. The mantra is good enough for the Marines; it’s good enough for me. Improvise . . . Near the top of the world, I fight for my life against my opponent, Sebastian Stark. He has the upper hand in strength, but I have the cunning to turn the tables on him. I battle the elements, my demons, and him until Stark and I manage to strike a deal to ensure freedom for us both—and the women we love. Adapt . . . Being alone comes naturally to me. I’ve spent most of my life alone. Sharing my experiences, opening up to another human being, developing a relationship—all these things are foreign to me. Sometimes I wonder if it’s even meant to be. Overcome . . . I’ve been away from Lia for far too long, yet I still have commitments I must keep. When… Read more »
