$10 GIVEAWAY and a SIGNED copy of Black by T.L. Smith

$10 GIVEAWAY and a SIGNED copy of Black by T.L. Smith

“They say I bring nothing but black, darkness. Though, when I’m with you, all I see is color, and fuck, it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen, Rose,” he says from between my breasts. I reach for my shirt and pull it free, then unclasp my bra. His head lifts while I do this, then he lays right back between them. His breath is heavy and hot on my nipple. My body shakes, excitement fills me. He does this to me, puts all the right emotions back into me. How could someone with what they say is a black soul do such things to another human being? He isn’t what they say, not when he’s with me. He’s nothing but good, caring, and even loveable when he’s with me. “I’m going to claim you, Rose,” he whispers and his mouth touches my nipple softly, making me squirm. He licks it,… Read more »

$25 GIVEAWAY and REVIEW: Division Zero by Matthew S. Cox

$25 GIVEAWAY and REVIEW: Division Zero by Matthew S. Cox

REVIEW Division Zero is a special unit inside a futuristic police precinct where agent Kirsten Wren works hard taming wayward ghosts. This might lead you to believe this is a horror story, but it’s not. Not really. It’s definitely a cyberpunk-ish science fiction mystery that has plenty of noir elements to it. In addition to the horror elements, the mystery elements, and the science fiction elements, it’s also quite angsty. Kirsten has a dark past that she has been struggling to come to terms with ever since she was pulled from her mother’s care. Born a psyonic (someone with amazing mind posers who can not only read the thoughts of others, but also control matter to a certain extent) who saw ghosts and was raised under the care of a religious zealot of a mother, Kirsten’s entire childhood was filled with horrors. Her mother firmly beloved she was the product… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and REVIEWS: Betwixt Omnibus by Melissa Pearl

GIVEAWAY and REVIEWS: Betwixt Omnibus by Melissa Pearl

REVIEW Betwixt is an amazing story of one young girl’s brush with death and her journey to self-realization and acceptance. Nicole Tepper had a lot going for her – she lives in a nice neighborhood, she’s socially popular at school, she has a hot boyfriend, and she’s pretty. You’d think that’s all it takes to be happy. But Nicole is not even close to happy. She’s been acting out since the death of her sister two years prior and in her mind, she grabbed life with gusto, pointed her head towards the wind, and pushed on. OK, she did do that. She just did it in all the wrong ways. And now that she’s on the brink of death after being hit by a car because her ‘boyfriend” was trying to grope her and she wasn’t interested- her bad choices are literally coming back to haunt her. This is sort… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and RELEASE DAY BLITZ: The Road to You by Marilyn Brant

GIVEAWAY and RELEASE DAY BLITZ: The Road to You by Marilyn Brant

EXCERPT I could count on one hand the things I knew were true about Donovan McCafferty: He was twenty-three—just over five years older than I was. He’d escaped into the Army at age eighteen and, except for a few quick but memorable visits, hadn’t returned to Minnesota until this past winter. He had an excellent mechanical mind. And he made me very nervous. Underneath my skin, every nerve fiber was fast twitching. Just thinking about Donovan always did that to me… It was 7:05 p.m. by the time I got to the auto-body shop where he worked. They closed at seven, but the light in the back was on and I knew he was in there. Not because I’d caught even one glimpse of Mr. Tall, Dark and Intense yet, but because the only other car in the lot was a crimson Trans Am with the giant Firebird decal in… Read more »

REVIEW: Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

REVIEW: Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

REVIEW Indy Savage is a screw up, but I mean that in Lee Nightingale’s most “Isn’t-Indy-cute” sorta way. Oh. My. God. Why did I wait so long to read this book? I haven’t laughed so hard reading a book since Bridget Jones was locked in a Thai prison singing Like A Virgin in her Victoria’s Secret Wonderbra. This book made me laugh out loud, like guffaw out loud, really – more times than I could count. Kristen Ashley is a brilliant writer because she paints a scene in a book like an artist paints a picture. It helps that I have lived in the Denver Metro area for fifteen years, but I’m pretty sure I’d feel this way even if I wasn’t familiar with the city she was writing about. Indy is me. I’m a rock chick who never quite grew up even though all these grown up things sorta… Read more »
