My Top Reads of 2016

My Top Reads of 2016

Well… at least there was some fabulous books out this year! This year was a busy one for me professionally and personally, so I didn’t have the chance to read as much as I would have liked, but I still have a few favorites! Here are some of my favorite, most memorable reads of the year. Looking back over the year, I can tell I was busy. When I’m busy, I tend to read funny, charming, witty books—-that allow me a total escape from the chaotic routine of my daily life, and these books allowed me that needed break. In no particular order: Right by Jana Aston Anything by Jana is hysterical and steamy. Right is one of the funniest books I read this year, and Everly is my spirit person. I loved everything about this story. Everly and Sawyer’s chemistry is off the charts, add some humor and witty… Read more »

From what we’ve heard, it may be because he knows exactly what hell’s like. Lonely. Scorching. Unforgiving. You may know his brother, the NRR hotshot (and former GearShark cover model) Lorhaven. Arrow may be following in big bro’s tread marks, but he doesn’t plan to stay there. He’s swerving onto the road less traveled… and a lot more controversial. Review: Lucas by Jay McLean

Review: Lucas by Jay McLean

This book…OMG. I signed up to read this book totally 100% based on two of my book friends LOVE for this author. I thought, now is as good of a time as ever to read this author. Jay McLean is a beautiful writer. Her words took me to a fictional world filled with angst, love, humor, and warmth. I loved every word and enjoyed these characters and their story. I found it hard to put down and continuously thought about this world when I couldn’t read. A friends to lovers story filled with so much angst, I found it hard to sleep at night. Lucas and Laney took my emotions on a roller coaster ride, filled with laughter, smiles, and tears. To say this book gave me the feels, is a GROSS understatement. I loved the Preston family, I love the brothers. I love Lucas’s faithfulness and unwavering… Read more »

Filthy English Review

Filthy English Review

My Review of Filthy English… If you follow my reviews, you know I’m a BIG Ilsa Madden-Mills fan. In fact I still remember where I was when I finished Very Bad Things many years ago. To say I devour her books is a gross understatement. I have count downs until I can get my hands on her novels…then I have to pace myself so that I savior each word. Dirty English was a top read for me last year. There was something unique about Declan and Elizabeth’s story that captured my attention and made me want more. In this installment, we get more than a taste of Dax Blay, Declan’s twin brother. And what a feast it is! Loosely based on Romeo and Juliet, this tale could be called a second chance romance, filled with addicting chemistry that would make any apothecary’s head spin! Remi is on her honeymoon without… Read more »

Excerpt Reveal for Filthy English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Excerpt Reveal for Filthy English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Filthy English (unedited excerpt) Chapter 1 Remi Plain and simple, this night sucked. Sadly, it was my honeymoon. I sighed heavily and gazed around Masquerade, an intimately lit London nightclub where everyone wore black domino masks, some elaborate and some plain, to hide their identity. A few die-hards even sported dark clothing with long, loose cloaks. Not me though. I’d gone modern with a slinky little number and three-inch heels, putting my height at nearly six feet. Yep, I’m the giant in the blue dress, towering over every girl and some guys at the bar. My top teeth dug into my bottom lip as I gazed around the smoky club, my eyes bouncing off random faces. Even in a room full of party people, music, and strobe lights, I was lonely. My groom was missing. That’s right. Hartford Wilcox, Jr., aka Mr. Nice Guy at Whitman University in North Carolina,… Read more »

Review of Paper Princess by Erin Watt

Review of Paper Princess by Erin Watt

Holy BeGeezus. This book. It’s so not young adult. Is it? But it’s so my type of book. It’s has everything I love in a NA story. Angst. Absolutely. Badass, hot, arrogant guys. Yep, try 5 of them. Sweet heroine with a backbone and spirit. Check. Did I mention angst? Oh, yeah, I did. How about a whole lotta steamy thoughts, wicked actions, addicting storyline…   God, this book. I fought reading it for my own reasons, I really did. Then I was in a horrible book funk. Like I didn’t read a single word in two weeks. So I picked a random book from my ARC kindle library and went in blind. I didn’t even know what I was reading because it was a review copy from a promo agent. And it had no cover or title. About a few pages in I figured out what I was reading, and… Read more »
