This is another set of books I got at Indie girl Con to give away on the blog. I’ve never read these, but they were very popular and they have great reviews. Up for grabs tonight are both books in this series, Eversea and Forever Jack, signed by the author, Natasha Boyd. ************************* EXCERPT My cold hands found Jack’s warm, smooth skin. He tensed under my touch, his eyes now slate grey in the darkened hall. Jack’s hand came up to my face, and his thumb brushed over my lips like when my tongue had accidentally found him. This time he pushed it against my lips, seeking entry. I hesitated a split second before sucking him into my mouth to taste the tang of his skin. Jack’s breathing hitched as he fed it to me, sliding it in and out against my tongue. His mouth grew taut, his nostrils flaring… Read more »

NEW RELEASE EXCERPT: The Hardest Part by Heather London
EXCERPT “Here, take this. We don’t have much time.” Mike’s frantic voice was loud in my ear. Still dazed, I glanced up at him and saw he was holding an envelope out for me to take. My eyes stared at the envelope, but I couldn’t make myself reach out for it. “Emily.” Mike’s voice was soft but firm. “I know this is a lot to take in, but I need you to concentrate. Take the envelope.” He enunciated the last few words slowly, carefully. My hands shook as I reached out for it. “I’m not sure I can do this, Mike.” I finally found my voice. “This is crazy. I—I don’t know where to go.” Once I had the envelope in my grasp, it felt like it weighed a hundred pounds. “You can do this. This life you’ve been living, this isn’t a life for you. Anywhere is better than… Read more »
GIVEAWAY and REVIEW: Layers by Sigal Ehrlich
REVIEW: Layers is an adult romance with Hayley, forced into applying for an internship after losing a bet. And Daniel, Mr. Stark, the billionaire owner of the company where said bet is carried through to the end. I found the beginning to be a little too fast. I did enjoy this book, and the characters were well developed, but the actual relationship really wasn’t. I didn’t really like Daniel. He treated his employees pretty bad, and although he was sweet with Hayley, it was very Jekyll and Hyde. Even Hayley mentions this, so it was on purpose. Even though he had a good explanation for why he was so aloof, I just didn’t connect with him all that much until the very end. The pacing was good and there was a lot going on in the book. One thing in particular was the running internal monologue in Hayley’s head. I… Read more »
