OK, let’s get this out there now. I’ve been a sucky blogger. I’ve been even a bigger ass of a reader. My summer has slipped away from me and I have been locked away in camp hell. Yep, camp. It’s occupied all my time. I have barely read a thing this summer. And I miss it. I miss talking to my friends online about books. I’m the one usually recommending… and now I’m PMing all my book whores to ask what to read. This summer has been a busy one for me, professionally and personally. And while I sit and think about school starting in a handful of weeks, preparing my fall curriculum while dealing with over 400 campers and 100 staff members, I take a few deep breathes and turn to a book–I mean, I need an escape, right? Well camp is almost over and I called out today… Read more »

REVIEW: Finding my Forever by Heidi McLaughlin
The Beaumont series just keeps getting better and better. I adored Forever my Girl – it was a sweet second chance romance that was just heartwarming. But I LOVED My Unexpected Forever so much. I really connected with that story. So when I started Finding My Forever I wasn’t sure what I was in for. I fell in love with Harrison and Katelyn and that whole story. But I tell you this book totally took me by surprise. This is the BEST Beaumont book so far. I fell in love with Jimmy and Jenna – and look they even have matching first name letters! This book takes all the other stories and piles on a heap of danger, mystery, and a perfect happily ever after. Every single time I thought I had this story wrapped up, I got another surprise! One I sat up and gasped! I was like –… Read more »
REVIEW: Valley of Darkness by AB Whelan
REVIEW I fell in love with this tender story in the first few pages of Fields of Elysium last year. Since then I’ve read both parts of Valley of darkness and my feelings have not changed. This series is a continuing story of Molly, a teenager form Earth, and Victor, a teenager from another planet that Molly accesses vi a wormhole. The world building is fantastic and I love the characters. Molly is such a tender soul, always trying to do the right thing, but she’s also brave and persistent, loyal to those she loves, and just a nice girl. This series has a lot of action in it and Valley of Darkness Part Two follows that precedent. In this book Molly is trying to prove to The Prophet or Arkana that she is worthy of becoming a Sentinel, and she wants to use the fact that she’s an Earthling… Read more »

REVIEW: Where My Heart Breaks by Ivy SInclair
I really can’t say enough good things about this book. What I liked: First and foremost, this book was unpredictable. Most of the time, with NA Romance we know the hero and heroine are going to be together. But in Where My Heart Breaks, nothing about their relationship is a sure thing. There are lots of reasons for them not to be together. It would be entirely relatable and believable if Katie ran in the other direction–not because he wasn’t a good guy, but because she was truly trying to make a fresh start. Specifically one that didn’t involve her being wrapped up in a boy. One of the main parts of the plot revolves around a famous novel that was written about the Inn where Katie is staying for the summer, and in several scenes it is almost as is Katie is reliving the novel. But the novel featured… Read more »
REVIEW: Taming Cross by Ella James
REVIEW Wow – Taming Cross was so good. One thing I LOVE about Ella James is that her writing is so SMART. She never assumes readers are stupid, she always assumes they’re smart. And that’s how she writes her stories. She researches stuff thoroughly so when you’re reading stuff in her stories about science or medicine, it’s all real. I love that about her because I’m a huge science nerd and that’s how Ella and I first met… I read her YA SF book HERE and I just loved it. It had so much cool SF in there, especially for a YA book. She did the same thing in Selling Scarlett with Cross’ accident – all his hospital stuff was so well researched and I loved it. In Taming Cross, Cross is out of the hospital, he’s recovering from a horrific motorcycle accident, and he’s just sorta lost. Poor Cross. … Read more »
