Release Day Announcements: SLACK, TAUT, and GUNS

Release Day Announcements: SLACK, TAUT, and GUNS

I’m doing something new these days for promotions of new releases. Each month I’ll have a sign-up list put up on this page. If the new release for that month interests you, you can sign up to share a post on Facebook or tweet about the new release on Twitter. This is different than the blog tours because you do not need to have a blog to participate. To show my appreciate for you guys taking the time to sign up and help spread the word on release days, I’ll run a monthly contest. The prizes might be a gift card, e-copies of the book, or even a signed paperback. This month I’m releasing SLACK: A Day in the Life of Ford Aston – A Novella on December 18th. If you would like to sign up to receive a link to share on FB or a tweet on December 18… Read more »

KINDLE FIRE GIVEAWAY: RETURN by JA Huss

KINDLE FIRE GIVEAWAY: RETURN by JA Huss

CHAPTER ONE – LUCAN: Amelia Habitat You would not think that an artificial intelligence would have a scent, but Amelia does. It’s intoxicating. Her apartments in the top floor of my home smell only of her. I’m not even sure I could describe it, but the closest thing would be space. Space has a smell. It’s not something you can discern directly because there’s no air in space and scents need to be carried on a current. And I can’t smell it on myself, not even when I come back from space because I’m encased in timeshift shell. But I smell it on Amelia because she stands out in the dark nothing when she’s thinking. I always know when she’s in a pensive mood because the smell of space permeates everything. It clings to her even when I know she’s not been outside the habitat for weeks. She smells like… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: The Ford Book Cover Reveal by JA Huss

GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: The Ford Book Cover Reveal by JA Huss

EXCERPT – CHAPTER ONE Click. Click. Click. That’s my shoes on the stone steps in the Chaput Building. I listen for a call. Or maybe even an echo, telling me that another pair of shoes are behind me. But I get nothing. Not even sounds from the New Year’s Eve party up on the fourth floor leak out. Just nothing. My steps are quick when I begin, but now that I’m nearing the door to the basement they are slow. I finish my escape more confused than I’ve ever been in my life. I told her. I want her. But she belongs to Ronin. You will not look back, you will not look back. That’s what I tell myself the entire way down. But of course, when I’m a few paces from the garage door, I do look up. All the way up to the fourth floor where that dark… Read more »

$50 GIVEAWAY: I Am Just Junco Omnibus Books 1-3 by JA Huss

$50 GIVEAWAY: I Am Just Junco Omnibus Books 1-3 by JA Huss

EXCERPT FROM CLUTCH BOOK ONE Tier throws down his rifle, takes a deep breath and looks at Moju. “My charge is out, give me all the grenades.” Moju leans heavily against the wall, fishes around in his pockets, and pulls out three canisters and hands them over to Tier. And that’s when I hear the clicking from the hallway behind us. “Shit! They’re back!” From the hazy cloud of thick dust a massive amalgamation of bot parts appears. I scream and both Moju and I train our rifles on the thing that comes towards us. We blast it back a few paces and it’s forced to reassemble. I steal a look at Tier and he’s already pulling the pin on the first grenade and running back towards me yelling, “Fire in the hole!” Moju dives for the corner as Tier grabs me and yanks me to the floor. The blast… Read more »

KINDLE FIRE ROOK and RONIN GIVEAWAY

KINDLE FIRE ROOK and RONIN GIVEAWAY

EXCERPT FROM PANIC: ROOK AND RONIN #3 We pass by her Shrike Rook bike as we walk to the truck and I catch her eyeing it with longing. “You gonna ride that thing, you think?” “Absolutely. I can’t wait.” “Hmmm, I’m not sure about that, Rook. It makes me nervous. Don’t ride it alone, OK? Make sure you’ve got Spence or one of the shop guys with you.” I lean back against the truck and she pushes herself into me and purrs in my ear, “You worry too much, Larue. I’m a big girl. I’m only gonna ride it for a few weeks before it starts snowing. Besides, I have the Shrike truck to hold me over until I figure out what kind of car I want.” “And that’s another thing—” “Don’t start with me! I’m buying my own car, I already told you that.” I lean down and kiss… Read more »

GIVEAWAY and SNEAK PEEK: RETURN: I Am Just Junco 5 by JA Huss

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT OF BOOK FIVE – RETURN Expected publication date: December 2, 2013 “Junco?” Tier’s voice whispers next to my ear. “Junco? Ya awake, darlin’?” I tuck my head into my chest and whisper, “No,” so softly, even I barely hear it. His arm slides underneath me and then pulls me towards him. He lets out the longest sigh I’ve ever heard and then kisses me on the back of the head. “I love you, Junco.” My chest hitches as the tears build. “No, you don’t. You’re going to leave me.” He stays silent and this is when it all becomes real for me. He’s leaving. I’m not sure where he’s going or how it will happen, but he’s leaving. He’s not staying, there’s no happy ending for me. “Junco, listen—” “No,” I say back quickly. “I’m tired of listening to all the bad things people want to tell me…. Read more »

NEW ADULT ADDICTION BLOGAVERSARY DAY THREE – High Traffic Posts

NEW ADULT ADDICTION BLOGAVERSARY DAY THREE – High Traffic Posts

See – this is what I mean. I’m totally late with this blog post today because I don’t actually enjoy blogging when I have to write original shit. Uggg.. I’d rather write reviews and post blitzes… and that’s pretty much what this post is about. High traffic posts. Some posts are worth the effort. Believe it or not, my Friday Night Freebie posts actually take a couple hours to put up. Add in the fact that I pay for all the prizes, make original promo graphics, and sometimes even review the book – and that one post is quite tedious and time consuming. But that time is well spent because I get a lot of hits for it. Even on a slow weekend, I get more than a thousand hits for a Friday Night Freebie post. Why? I’m not sure, really. Seriously, these giveaways are not that big sometimes. Sometimes… Read more »

NEW ADULT ADDICTION BLOGAVERSARY GIVEAWAY DAY ONE!

NEW ADULT ADDICTION BLOGAVERSARY GIVEAWAY DAY ONE!

YUP – I  made it!  One year of blogging almost every single freaking day!  You know it’s funny because I’m a writer, but I have never been one to “journal” things. I never kept a diary, I’ve never been one to write things because I felt I needed to. I’ve started a few blogs for my other business (which is writing non-fiction science books) but I’ve never been able to keep up with it. And my author blog, pffffttt.  Don’t even ask how often I go over there to write about shit. Like twice a month if I’m lucky. But it’s my one year publishing anniversary too, so I am blogging all week overt there about writing. It’s mostly for writers, some tips and tricks I learned about self-publishing, so you can skip it and you won’t miss anything, believe me. It’s more of a rant, probably.  BUT HERE… I… Read more »
