$50 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Hands Off! The 100 Day Agreement by Candy J. Starr

$50 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Hands Off! The 100 Day Agreement by Candy J. Starr

EXCERPT “Ha, I win. You landed on Park Lane and I have a hotel on it. You can’t pay. I win. I win.” I’d have jumped up and done a victory dance if I could use my foot. It was infuriating how Chad didn’t even get ruffled when I beat him. It took some of the joy out of it. I wanted him to give more of a sign. Not just a flare of his nostrils but some real loser angst. “Wanna play again?” Chad shook his head. “What’s wrong? Are you scared? Scared I’m going to whupp your ass.” Chad nodded and shot me a grin. “I was thinking of heading to the gym. Board games don’t count as real exercise.” “It’s totally exercise and you can’t leave. What if I need something?” Chad grabbed my crutches from the corner and sat them next to the sofa. “You can… Read more »

KINDLE GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Warlord by Lana Grayson

KINDLE GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Warlord by Lana Grayson

EXCERPT “You’re lying if you say you want out of this life,” he said. I wished I hadn’t stared at his lips. Or concentrated on the baritone threat of his words. Or willed the twisted beat of my heart to slam against my chest. “I’m not part of Anathema,” I said. “No, but it’s part of you. And all the concerts and college loans and temper tantrums won’t get you out of the club. So what is it? Why are you so desperate to leave?” His fingers teased along the too-pink lace of my panties. My cheeks flushed with the same innocence, but I didn’t let him scare me. “Why are you so desperate to keep me here?” He liked that challenge. “If you knew what was good for you, you’d go running back to your big brothers.” “We’re not talking at the moment.” “Maybe you should be a good… Read more »

$25 GIVEAWAY and REVIEW: The Duality Principle by Rebecca Grace Allen

$25 GIVEAWAY and REVIEW: The Duality Principle by Rebecca Grace Allen

REVIEW The Duality Principle was a quick, fun, sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Connor is bad boy pretending to be good and Gabby is a nerd girl with a rebellious streak. The two of them meet and make assumptions about each other that throws off the flow of their newly developing relationship. I thought the story was well-written and well-edited. I enjoyed it. It wasn’t ground-breaking, but it was a story I wanted to keep reading until the end. The sexy times were fun and hot and Connor’s hidden alpha-male tendencies added the perfect balance to his computer coding day-job persona. There isn’t a lot of theme going on in this little novella, but the takeaway for me was more than the old ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ type stuff. It was more about letting yourself be whoever it is you want to be, both inside and… Read more »

BLOG TOUR EXCERPT: The Reason I Stay by Patty Maximini

BLOG TOUR EXCERPT: The Reason I Stay by Patty Maximini

WELCOME  to my stop on The Reason I Stay by Patty Maximini blog tour. Enjoy the excerpt! “Hey there,” a chipper voice with a very noticeable drawl sounds to my right. Lifting my head to acknowledge the source of the voice, through my peripheral vision I see a narrow waist covered in navy fabric and a hand with purple nail polish and a girly skull ring, but I don’t bother to look at her further. I just can’t. I know she’ll be some nice southern-hospitality enthusiast trying to start a conversation, and welcome me to this town. Being one hundred percent sure that I’ll lose it if I’m subjected to that I bend my elbows, anchor them on the table and burry my head in my palms. “Welcome to The Jukebox. I’m Lexie.” I roll my eyes at her stupid name. Of course you’re a Lexie. “Excuse me, do you… Read more »

$25 GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Scratch by Rhonda Helms

EXCERPT “When I was a kid I would stay in the pool for hours until I wrinkled,” Daniel said. Somehow while we treaded water he’d moved closer to me, and I could feel the moving water beneath the surface pulsing against my own legs. “In fact, in elementary school I wanted to be an Olympic diver. I had no fear.” “I can just imagine.” A tiny Daniel, diving into the pool, his scrawny body plunging the surface as he practiced relentlessly. “What made you change your mind?” “I look terrible in Speedos.” His grin widened and he gave a cheeky laugh. I laughed in response. “I used to pretend I was a mermaid. I’d sit on the bottom of the pool and press my legs together and make believe they were a tail.” How many hours my sister and I had lived in our neighborhood’s pool. She’d refused to go… Read more »
