For my Kick-butt character I chose Ari Alexander of The Taking Series by Melissa West because she’s not only kick-butt, she’s a good kid.  I really got attached to her in Gravity and I’m very much looking forward to reading the second book as soon as it comes out.  I will definitely buy this one in paperback.

THE HOP

THE RULES

This prize will be delivered by email, typically within 24 hours of responding to my notification e-mail. Everyone who enters must be legally able to do so, typically this means 13 years and up, but please check with your local regulations.  Please follow all the rules for hop entries.  I do check them, so don’t cheat.  The winner will have 48 hours to respond after I send out the notification e-mail, if I do not hear from you, I’ll choose an alternate winner.

    My absolute favorite kick butt character would have to be Kate Daniels of the Ilona Andrews series. Here is a woman who has literally spent years working hard to appear mediocre so that her true skills won’t come to light and let her ancient father find and kill her. But all that goes by the wayside when she finds the one man she can’t beat or ignore. Some of the best world building I have ever read, I keep reading and rereading the series waiting for the next book.

    I have too many fave kick-butt characters to list! Near the top of the list right now are Kate & Curran from the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, Chess & Terrible from Stacia Kane’s Downside Ghosts series and Kaylin Neya & Severn from Michelle Sagara’s Chronicles of Elantra series (I guess I have a thing for kick-butt couples!)

    My first favorite kick butt literary character from more of a classic era would have to be The Count of Monte Cristo. I love me a good revenge butt kicker. Always fun. A bit more modern, I would say that I like the character of James or Jimmy in any and all Raymond E Feist books he’s in because he’s really cool. If you haven’t read any and you like good fantasy, they are really great. For more YA recent butt kicker, I am just not sure as there are quite a few. I need to read more to find a good one.
