Stacking the Shelves #8

April 27, 2013 Uncategorized 7

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.  Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I have been seeing Cruxim around for a while now, but one of my author friends from Indie Inked recommended this book to me, I should say – HIGHLY recommended this book to me.  Tara West, who has a fabulous Dragon fantasy out now called Curse of the Ice Dragon, couldn’t stop gushing over it. So Cruxim author Karin Cox gifted me a copy to review. I’m really excited about Cruxim because, well, there’s a hot winged guy on the cover. I think that’s enough to go on.

I got a signed copy of The Photo Traveler from Xpresso Tours and I’m very excited to get started on this one soon. My son will probably read that as well.

A Searcher Summoned is a SF book by GR friend, Perrin Pring, she gifted me a copy to review this summer.

Death Lies Between Us was an author initiated review request.  I liked the premise so i agreed to review this one over the summer as well.

For You I already reviewed, find that here, and that’s by Mimi Strong.

Lost in You is by Heidi McLaughlin, best selling author of Forever My Girl, she’s got a review coming up here on May 6th.

And these two, I am super excited about.  Sarah M. Ross is getting GLOWING reviews about Inhale/Exhale.

I snatched up the opportunity to review The Rules for Disappearing quick, because it just sounded so interesting.

I also run a young adult book blog called Clean Teen Reads, and instead of doing two STS, I’m just combining them these days. The Tale of Mally Biddle looked very original, not usually what I gravitate to for reviews, but I was drawn to it.

First Light is the first of a two book SF series that I’m going to review over there as well.  If you write YA SF and it’s UNIQUE, I’m interested in hearing from you.  Blue Hearts of Mars was a recent one that BLEW ME AWAY.  I loved it. If you’re an author writing stuff like that, feel free to contact me for a review. I’m hoping this series is just as good.

Caly’s Piece was another author initiated review request.  I don’t take a lot of these, and I usually make very snap decisions when I do accept them.  So either I’m very interested or I’m not. And I typically email you right away. I admit to choosing this one because Heather Wood reviewed it and loved it.  :)  She wrote First Visions (which I reviewed here), and that was a good book, so I figured I’d give this one a try.

Moonlit has pretty horses on the cover…LOL…that’s like the YA version of winged hot dudes for me.

And finally, I won this cool CHOCOLATE filled mug from a contest for Moonlight Dancer over at Ridiculously Peachy:)  THANKS!

Finishing up Losing Francesca this weekend.  There’s a cover reveal on May 6th, if you haven’t signed up for it, please consider it.  The cover is, and I’m not just saying this because it’s mine, GORGEOUS.

(And TRAGIC ARC’s went out this week I think…if you want an ARC to review, sign up here for the release day blitz.)

 Have a great weekend!
