I really can’t say enough good things about this book. What I liked: First and foremost, this book was unpredictable. Most of the time, with NA Romance we know the hero and heroine are going to be together. But in Where My Heart Breaks, nothing about their relationship is a sure thing. There are lots of reasons for them not to be together. It would be entirely relatable and believable if Katie ran in the other direction–not because he wasn’t a good guy, but because she was truly trying to make a fresh start. Specifically one that didn’t involve her being wrapped up in a boy. One of the main parts of the plot revolves around a famous novel that was written about the Inn where Katie is staying for the summer, and in several scenes it is almost as is Katie is reliving the novel. But the novel featured… Read more »

COVER REVEAL: Forty Nights by Stephanie Parent
Forty Nights (Neima’s Ark #2) by Stephanie Parent Release Date: September 2013 Cover Designed by: Najla Qamber Designs Summary from Goodreads: Neima, her family, and her grandfather Noah have found themselves trapped aboard an ark as a great flood destroys all life in the world. As their time aboard the ark lengthens, food begins to run out, wild animals grow restless, and family tensions become as much of a threat as the flood outside. In the second and final installment of Neima’s Ark, the stakes are higher, the conflicts are greater, and Neima finds herself facing a choice as impossible as the destruction all around her. Forty Nights is a continuation of the story begun in Forty Days, and it’s recommended that you read Forty Days first for the best experience. GIVEAWAY and EXCERPT: Aberrant by Ruth Silver
Excerpt from Aberrant by Ruth Silver Joshua came into my room, ignoring all rules as he helped push the dresser further from the wall, knocking it to the floor allowing me more than enough room to grab the journal and go. I tossed it inside the pack and Joshua put the map inside before we stepped out of my bedroom. I glanced down the hall, not sure what I expected to see. To the right the dormitory had been hit, and a roar of smoke and fire filled the confined space. Jacqueline was gone. Hand-in-hand we ran in the opposite direction toward the staircase. My eyes burned. Coughing, I refused to let go of his hand as we stepped outside. Drones weren’t the only things attacking Haven. Tanks rolled into town. A few soldiers jumped off, taking over the perimeter, guns drawn. I paused, gripping Joshua’s hand as… Read more »
REVIEW: Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley
REVIEW Indy Savage is a screw up, but I mean that in Lee Nightingale’s most “Isn’t-Indy-cute” sorta way. Oh. My. God. Why did I wait so long to read this book? I haven’t laughed so hard reading a book since Bridget Jones was locked in a Thai prison singing Like A Virgin in her Victoria’s Secret Wonderbra. This book made me laugh out loud, like guffaw out loud, really – more times than I could count. Kristen Ashley is a brilliant writer because she paints a scene in a book like an artist paints a picture. It helps that I have lived in the Denver Metro area for fifteen years, but I’m pretty sure I’d feel this way even if I wasn’t familiar with the city she was writing about. Indy is me. I’m a rock chick who never quite grew up even though all these grown up things sorta… Read more »
GIVEAWAY BLITZ: Silver Heart by Victoria Green
~* Excerpt *~ “I wish I could just crawl into your brain and erase away the past,” I told him, trying to smile through the pain in my heart. My words seemed to shock him. He placed his fingers under my chin, gently lifting it so that our eyes could meet. “Don’t ever say that again. I wouldn’t let anyone to take away my past—no matter how bad some parts of it had been.” He pulled my face closer to his, resting his head against mine. “Because that would mean getting rid of you, Silver.” We stayed frozen in place for a while, our foreheads touching lightly. Sawyer closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, breathing me in. Overwhelmed by his proximity and his icy scent, my head began to spin. “But if we didn’t know each other you wouldn’t have to worry about having the worst snowboarding student in all… Read more »
