FRIDAY NIGHT FREEBIE: No One’s Angel by Kelly Walker

No One's Angel

Published on September 5th 2013

Tess used to spend more hours than she'd care to admit playing her favorite computer game, using the nickname Angel. She could pretend her life was different, and she could pretend Arion was just a friend. But a girl needs more to keep her warm at night than pixels, and she traded her virtual heaven for a real-life hell. Now she's on the run from a past she won't talk about, and the only place she has to go is the doorstep of the friend she's never actually met.
When Angel disappeared from their nightly games, it nearly destroyed Arion. He threw himself into work and women, but he can't help knowing the one-night stands will never compare to the angel who haunts his dreams. At first, when she shows up soaking wet and scared-shitless on his doorstep, he thinks his prayers have been answered.
But the more Arion tries to keep Angel close, the more her fear drives her away. If they are ever going to have a chance for a future, they'll first have to deal with the past that hasn't forgotten her any more than she's forgotten it--and Arion will have to learn how to let her go.

Welcome to the Friday Night Freebie!

Up For grabs this weekend is a SIGNED COPY OF NO ONE’S ANGEL BY KELLY WALKER.
If you’re looking for a new kind of new adult book and not the same old shit, then look no further!  This one has online gamers, and if you’re not into gaming – don’t worry, there’s plenty of romance! this contest will run through Midnight Sunday, MST.  I’ll choose a winner Monday Morning.

Arion reaches for my hand but catches only air. I freeze. And then I shiver. Without the warmth of the blankets, I remember I’m not wearing anything but his shirt, and given the look he’s giving me now, I’m not the only one who’s noticed. That expression I can read just fine.
“You aren’t going anywhere, Angel.”
I suck in a sharp breath, hearing his words in someone else’s voice.
But I did. I’m here. I left.
My eyes dart around the room like a moth fluttering against a light. My pile of clothes, which should have been by the door, is missing. “Did you take my clothes?” The tightening in my chest makes my words breathless. I try to tell myself not to panic, but that’s like telling a dog not to wag its tail. Acknowledging it only makes it worse. I gulp for more air as my head starts to spin.
“Would only seem fair. After all, you took mine.” His tone is tense, but beneath it I can hear his familiar teasing. I try to tell myself I don’t have to be afraid. This is Arion. The one person I trust. I know him.
But I don’t, and to tell myself otherwise is a lie.
If he wants his freaking shirt he can have it. I’ve got to get out of here. My fingers begin undoing the buttons without me really thinking about it, and then I’m shrugging my shoulders free.
His eyes go from warm pools of interest to sexy oceans of desire in the time it takes me to remember I don’t even have a bra on.
I manage to catch the shirt just before it falls away from my hips, and I quickly wrap it around me, covering myself. I tilt my chin toward him defiantly, daring him to say or do anything even as I want to beg him to let me go. At the same time I want to beg him to pull me close. My emotion is a giant see-saw, and I’m tottering on the edge with him in the middle. If he takes one step toward me, it will tip the balance.

Funny thing, I was just talking about this today with my co-workers. I believe it is totally possible to fall in love with someone you never met. I believe in this day and age with the technology that we have it’s happening more and more every day. A side not, I was talking about never meeting my grandpa. He died before I was born, but I love him. It comes in all different forms, all the more power to those that it’s happened to.

Maybe if it was like a pen pal situation but never spoken to whether phone or letters, probably not.

  3. Vera Machado

I think that I could fall in love with someone I never met in person.

    Thanks for the giveaway!!! 😀

I know it is possible to fall in love with someone you have not met, because I have done it! I met a wonderful man online, we grew very close over the internet, and then eventually through phone conversations. We decided it was time to meet, and from that first meeting, we knew we were in love. We are now engaged to be married! He has been what my soul has been looking for since birth. The minute we touched, our fate was sealed, and we will be together in our hearts and souls forever, in one way or another.

  6. Lucy

I guess anything is possible. I can imagine if you get into an online relationship you could fall in love.

  7. Lisa Vazquezanzua

No I wouldn’t be able to fall in love with someone that I haven’t meet personally. Just because when I meet someone face to face I have to feel if there is a “vibe” between us. I like looking straight in to the guy’s eyes and watch how they interact and talk with me. Make sure they don’t do anything to embarrass me. That’s also something I look for when meeting a guy. If he does not know how to act grown up then he is gone!! Thank you so much for having this awesome giveaway!!!

I really believe I could fall for someone I’ve never met. They can be mysterious but hopefully they aren’t some serial killer! LOL No, really, I fell for a guy once that I had to talk to through work. He was in New Orleans and wanted to fly me down for Mardi Gras. I really wanted to go but I was only 21 and I was afraid he wouldn’t be the same in person. I regretted not going and ended up losing contact with him shortly after that.

I could and do fall in love with people I haven’t met which is over and over again by the virtual harem of book boyfriends that I have. :)

Yes to the book boyfriends…LOL Also, I fell in love with my husband on AOL. We have been married now fourteen years this past Thursday, September 17th. :) We chatted for over six months and I even stood him up the first time we were suppose to meet. I still have not lived that one down. LOL We lived over six hours apart.
Thank you for a wonderful giveaway.
