ABOUT STARS IN THEIR EYES:
WARNING: The hero in this book is not an asshole. He is hot, charming, smart, funny, ripped, gorgeous, respectful and completely panty-melting. Please proceed.
A sexy and swoony new adult romance…
Celebrity photographer and college senior Jess Leighton desperately needs to crash the wedding of the year. Snapping just one pic of the A-list Hollywood couple tying the knot will pay her way through grad school. But with security tighter than the bride-to-be’s corset, she’ll need more than her camera and smarts, she’ll need help from her biggest rival–hot, British, motorcycle-riding William Harrigan, whose sexy accent can melt the panties off any woman. He’s the last person Jess should trust, but he’s her only ticket in.
William Harrigan wants one thing – to stay in L.A. past college graduation. With a student visa set to expire, the clock is ticking. When he lands a gig that pairs him with the beautiful blond spitfire Jess, he’s scored his best shot at living out the American dream. Winning her trust would be a whole lot easier, however, if he didn’t have ulterior motives…
But there’s no faking the intense attraction between them. Try as they might to resist each other, soon sparks are flying, as they devise a plan to sneak into the ceremony. But when Jess’ new celebrity client raises the stakes, she starts to smell blackmail, and soon she and Will are chasing down cheating directors, staking out clandestine trysts, and making fake IDs, all while sneaking scene-stealing kisses and hot nights together.
The audience loves a happy ending, but in a town where everyone’s acting and no one’s playing by the rules, can Jess and William find their own ever after in time?
**Stars in Their Eyes is the start of the sexy, swoony and scandalous new adult series Wrapped Up in Love, which is a spin-off of the NYT and USA Today Bestselling Caught Up in Love series. You don’t need to have read Caught Up in Love to follow this new series, but you’ll likely enjoy those books!**

REVIEW:
Lauren Blakely is becoming one of my go-to authors. I enjoy everything I’ve read by her this past year and am thirsty for more. My first introduction to Ms Blakely was through her No Regrets series, which I really enjoyed. This new series, Wrapped Up in Love, reminds me of a series of fantastic rom-com movies. While I was reading, I kept trying to connect Lauren’s characters with real life stars…it was great fun.
Stars in Their Eyes picks up right where the novella, Starstruck Kiss, leaves off. (For a limited time, you can get the novella for free! Click here for the link to the free book!) Not having read Lauren’s Caught Up in Love series, it’s obvious that William and Jess, the main characters in this book, are somehow linked to characters from previous books. These characters make cameos (which I love in spin-off series) and add delightful interactions with our starring couple.
Jess is a full time college student, who is paying her way through college by being a freelance paparazzi photographer. Extremely determined to not take any loans out, she’s determined to balance her studies with her job, leaving not much time for anything else. Being a celebrity photographer leaves her with little time for a social life and it seems that’s the way she wants it. So when her boss introduces her to a new photographer in town, a HOT, BRITISH, guy, she finds it hard to deny her attraction to William, especially when they keep running into each other while trying to capture the perfect picture and send it to their boss before the other one. But William is also stressed in his own life and is determined to stay in America after his student visa expires when he graduates. He’ll do anything to find a job so that he can remain in California.
Jess and William are delightful and charming. I love when I connect to the characters…and these two are entertaining, funny, and sweet.I found myself rooting for these two to get together right from the start. I also really enjoyed all the Hollywood references. Both have a love for movies and this interest is woven throughout their story, adding to their banter and builds each other’s attraction to the other. I found myself smiling and giggling throughout the book for various reasons.
- William is adorable. And he’s BRITISH. I love British men.
- The secondary characters, especially the stars in this book, resemble real life movie stars and I found it incredibly fun trying to connect the made up ones to the real ones.
- The chemistry between Jess and William—it wasn’t insta-love, but the build up was realistic and HOT.
- The story line is refreshing. This is a wonderfully written, fun and sweet book. While it didn’t make me sob or make me reflect on the past great loves of my life, it, like a perfect romantic comedy, made me laugh, smile, and escape the busy world of reality for a few hours.
- There’s side stories, twists, and surprises throughout the book which kept me invested throughout.
Like so many others, I love to read. I read for many different reasons, but I read because it makes me happy. I know I read a good book when I find myself telling my assistant at work what I’m reading. She asks daily and she can always tell what books I loved by the way I talk about them. She only buys books that I recommend-so guess what she read this weekend? So, like any good romantic comedy, this is a book that brings a smile to my face, is enjoyable from start to finish, and is such an engaging read! I’m looking forward to her next Wrapped Up in Love book…when I can relax, grab some popcorn, and just read a fun and sweet book.
