Review: 5 freaking I LOVED THIS STORY Stars….
I didn’t really know what to expect from this book. I read a lot but this is my first read from author A.L. Jackson and I wasn’t disappointed. Her words are strung together poetically. I found myself addicted to this story from the beginning…each chapter adding to my immersion. I read it in a day.
I love me a bad ass rocker. Nothing sweeter to me than ripping the layers off a bad boy to see the warm gooey center. Sebastian has A LOT of layers and each layer is harder to take. I ached for his loneliness and guilt. I love how realistically he is portrayed through the words on the page. He’s rough and no-nonsense and it made me love all the more.
Shea is the typical Southern belle beauty, but her secrets run deep. I love how take charge she is, and that she’s not all that innocent in her actions either. She is strong, stronger than I thought she’d be by the end of book one.
Together these two are perfect for each other and I loved the dual POVs between the two. I loved getting into each of their heads and minds, gaining a better understanding on the whys and what-not’s of their actions. Their story and relationship is as much a contradiction as much as this story is predictable, but it’s so NOT. I kinda knew where it was going to go, I had inkling, but the final chapters proved me wrong. One thing I didn’t know is that there is a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers with a passion. But you know what; this story is worth the cliffhanger. I cannot wait until June to see what happens next.
Besides loving the storyline and the main characters, the secondary characters are just as charismatic and beautifully created. I hope that stories about Baz’s band mates, Lyrik, Ash and Zee, as well as Shea’s friends, Tamar and April, are somehow expanded in the future. The group of support Bastian and Shea have helped create this pure reading joy of an experience. They added so much to the story, I want more!
I loved this book. I really did and I can’t wait to read more! I need book 2, like yesterday!!!

SPECIAL EXCERPT:
I dug in my bag for my keys and slipped the front-door key into the lock, turned the knob, and cracked open the door.
“Goodnight, Baz.” I turned away and went to cross the threshold.
I felt him move before I felt the blazing heat of his hand on my neck, beneath my hair, his thumb at my jaw to force me to look back at him.
Indecision swam through his eyes, voice rough. “You’re beautiful, Shea. Need you to know that.”
Slowly, I shifted, turning to face him, his right hand gliding around to the side of my neck in the same second his left came up to the other side. Holding me. Thumbs ran along the contour of my jaw, strong fingers at my nape tipping back my head.
I felt like I would drown under the intensity of him—my body coming alive—a rapid-fire of sensation licking through my body with the simple touch.
I stopped breathing when he slowly leaned in. His mouth brushed over mine in a feather-light caress.
Once. Twice. Three times.
Testing.
As if he were curious to see what it might feel like.
Like he’d gotten the answer, he gripped my face. There was little movement, just the dizzying sweetness of his lips as they pressed earnestly against my mouth. Baz inhaled, breathing the moment in. I grabbed his wrists to hold him closer as my knees went weak, the man again having the power to evoke the most foolish kind of reaction from me.
He fed from it, I could tell, the way every inch of him hardened and a rumble of pleasure vibrated from his chest.
Spinning us, he pushed me up against the wall. My back hit it with a thud, and his hands were in my hair, yanking me forward in the same second his mouth closed fiercely over mine.
He was no longer gentle, and he swept his tongue along the rim of my bottom lip, teasing at the corner, nipped me once before his tongue slipped inside.
It was an all-out assault.
