Lately I’ve enjoyed the friends to lovers books. My top read so far this summer that is friends to lovers, With a Twist by Staci Hart.
We all have those “go-to” book friends. Well, one of my “go-to” friends PMed me a few weeks ago and said, check out this book. It’s sweet, and steamy, and I think you’d like it. I devoured it.
This is my favorite kind of book. One that is sweet and just takes you away into another world. I completely fell in love with these characters. Completely. ALL of them. This circle of friends are series gold. I want to read each and every one of their stories. (And because I’m a stalker, I totally checked to see when and IF their stories will be told. Good news, next one is out by the end of this year. Bad news, book three is slated for late 2016<— gonna kill me to wait.)
West is a grad student (English Lit, SHAKESPEARE-swoon major) from the south who is waiting to see if he got into a doctorate program in NYC. He’s tall. He has a man bun. He has a beard. (insert wet panties.) His roommate is a total hot tattoo artist. His college friend, a socialite millionaire. Down the hall lives two of his friends, Lily and Rose. Lily is a professional ballet dancer. Rose a bartender.
While this book is predictable, it also captivates the reader to want to know the details of these characters lives. I fell in love with Lily and West from the get go. Lily’s mindset and inner dialogue is exactly what every girl really thinks. Well, at least what I tend to think. The conversations I have with myself, are true to what Lily thinks too. It’s smart, witty, and down right funny.
