LOVED. IT.
I got everything I wanted…the escape from reality, the feels, the tears, the laughs and the HEAs. Each of my picks this month are different, yet they all made me feel. They all made me NOT want to put the book down.
Sexy by JA Huss: Fletcher is just a hot and he knows it guy, who works the crowd and pleases not only the ladies, but himself while doing it! He’s arrogant, but sweet. He’s what you think is the ultimate jerk, but you kinda fall in love with him. He has the moves and you want to follow each and every one of them. Tiffy. She’s something. I wanted to shake her silly then slap the crap outta her, but in the end, I kinda fell in love with her, too. There’s a great chemistry between these two characters and the story line keeps you entertained and smiling. I kept waiting for Huss to throw in a twist. An intense, WTH just happened moment, but there wasn’t one…and that was the WTH moment. This is not a suspense. It’s just a really good, fun, sexy story about two people who find the sexy within themselves!
Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre (my #girlcrush): Ok. This book took be a few pages to really get into it, but once I did, I didn’t want to or couldn’t put it down. The banter between the two characters, Summer and Cole, was charming, witty, and laugh out loud funny. Small time girl meets big Hollywood actor–what’s not to love. I loved every word. I loved every interaction. I loved every character from Ben to Cocky! The surprise cameo MADE MY MONTH! This is a different book than what I’m used to from Alessandra, and she did a brilliant job. This is a fun, charming and witty love story. I kinda want more… a bonus scene to see where these two are in the future!
Paper Hearts by Claire Contreras: Wow. I’m still processing all the feels. Because this book. Paper Hearts, is probably my favorite book I’ve read this year. It has everything I love in a romance: second chances, high school sweethearts years later, charming characters, swoony heros, and humor. I love this characters. I didn’t think I could love any two more than Estelle and Oliver (Kaleidoscope Hearts), but Jensen and Mia take the cake. Jensen…my ovaries are still exploding thinking about him. This book took me on an emotional journey about forgiveness, second chances, and opening your heart to the possibility of taking chances. Once I started, I couldn’t put down. Literally. I read it in one swoop. I couldn’t NOT finish it in one sitting. There were so many feels in this book. There were are so many moments in this story that just spoke to my heart, gripped it hard and whispered:
FEEL IT:
“They say it takes 21 days to break a habit.
It’s been approximately 1,826 since I last held her hand in mine and I’m still waiting for the remnants of her to break off of me.”
FEEL THE PAIN…
“Like somebody is gripping your heart, but you don’t want them to let go because the ache would worsen without them.”
FEEL THE LOVE, and the BEAUTY...
“Real love stories never end.”
