Well… at least there was some fabulous books out this year!
This year was a busy one for me professionally and personally, so I didn’t have the chance to read as much as I would have liked, but I still have a few favorites! Here are some of my favorite, most memorable reads of the year. Looking back over the year, I can tell I was busy. When I’m busy, I tend to read funny, charming, witty books—-that allow me a total escape from the chaotic routine of my daily life, and these books allowed me that needed break.
In no particular order:
Right by Jana Aston
Anything by Jana is hysterical and steamy. Right is one of the funniest books I read this year, and Everly is my spirit person. I loved everything about this story. Everly and Sawyer’s chemistry is off the charts, add some humor and witty secondary characters, and this story is at the top of my favorites list. My review is here.
Trust by Jana Aston
Trust is the third book in Jana’s Wrong series, and it is the perfect conclusion in this humorous world of Philadelphia’s top couples. Chloe is a fun-loving teacher who has bad luck in the dating world, so she fake dates a hottie to gain practice. But is it really fake dating? Boyd is a top book boyfriend! He delicious in every way! My review is here.
Mr. Perfect by JA Huss
Anything by Julie is an automatic one-click. Her writing is fluent, solid, and always gives me a break from the daily grind that I crave. Mr. Perfect is the first in a five book series that begins a new adventure in the world of the Misters. This book is witty, charming, and hot. My review is here.
Paper Princess by Erin Watt
I couldn’t put this book down! I love a good bad boy, and Reed Royal is the perfect bad ass. A “young adult” read with a lot of angst and foreplay, from the first page, I got lost in the world of the Royals. My heartstrings broke for Ella and the cliff at the end nearly gave me a heart attack. The complete trilogy is now finished-and I’m looking forward to reading the third installment soon. Review is here.
#Nerd by Cambria Herbert
I am late to this series, but once I started I couldn’t stop. I read the entire series in a month. One right after the other, this series is perfect new adult fiction! A story about a “nerd” falling for the campus hottie is not a new story line, but Cambria’s words and plot took me on a fabulous journey filled with first loves, new friendships, and being comfortable with who you are. Loved this entire series.
Anything but Minor by Kate Stewart
This is the first book I read by Ms. Stewart and I cried in laughter reading each page. Seriously, I peed a little while reading. I read this book on vacation and found reasons to cut my evenings short to go back and read. To say I enjoyed this story is a huge understatement. If you like humorous stories, pick this one up. It’s hysterical!
Undecided by Julianna Keyes
This. This story is a top favorite book of all time. And I can’t put into words why. It captured my attention from the get go and Ms. Keyes weaves emotion and connection in every word she writes. I could not put this book down. The characters were real and genuine, the story line was filled with depth and charm, and I just wanted more. I’m patiently waiting for her next book in this series. If you haven’t read this book yet, I’m begging you to do so. It is the ultimate new adult book! My review is here.
