EXCERPT: “When are you going to tell her?” In the process of checking his watch, Damon paused. His fingers rapped once on the rough grain of the picnic table in irritation before curling into a loose fist next to his elbow. Loose wisps of autumn wind swept through the clearing, pushing locks of dark hair into his eyes that were impatiently swept back. “Whenever I feel like it,” he muttered into the phone. “She’s not ready.” The she in question stood several yards away, surrounded by a field of knee-high grass and wild flowers. The late afternoon sun glittered through her unbound hair, turning the sleek strands a deep, rich gold that lifted around her thin shoulders with every crisp breeze. She hadn’t moved in the last ten minutes. Every so often, Damon could just hear the quiet snap of camera shutters and the whir of gears as the device… Read more »

Tour Review: Under the Spotlight by Angie Stanton
Kristi’s Review: OK, so I’m going to be honest. When I signed up for this tour, I solely signed up for this based on this amazing cover. It’s gorgeous and made me want to read more about this couple. When I began reading the story this past weekend, I realized I read book one, Rock and a Hard Place, eons ago! Squee, I love those little surprises. But I’m sorta out of the loop—and I need to catch up and read book two, Snapshot, to complete the brothers! This book has two spunky characters and if I’m truthful, Garrett was a bit of a prick in the beginning (and middle)…but I kinda love the jerks even the ones who are jerks for most of the book. Then there’s Riley. Riley — damn she is strong to put up with a mother like hers. I don’t blame her for being hesitant… Read more »
TRUST by Ella Frank – Review
First and foremost, I’m so sad that this story has come to an end. Logan and Tate are two of my favorite characters ever. EVER. I have read hundreds of books, probably thousands of books, in a variety of genres, and these two men are among the few characters who will live with me forever. The end of their journey was rough. As they say, THE FEELS. Ella took a strong plot and spun it in a Tate and Logan web that was magical because it was the special story of these two characters and their love for one another. In the end, this is the culmination of a beautiful love story – a beautiful, sexy, hot as hell love story, but a truly beautiful love story. If you’re looking for a Happily Ever After, you’ve found one. The road is bumpy, and the destination isn’t traditional, but the trip… Read more »
TOUR Review: Under the Influence by L.B. Simmons
Kristi’s Review: I’ve read this author before, and this book is a different read from her…and while it’s not my favorite, I highly enjoyed it. I really liked getting to know these two characters and the paths their lives took them on. Years ago, Dalton and Spencer meet and the connection is instant, but friendship is all that they allow themselves to have. Dalton is the older, bad-boy with the heart of gold who pines for Spencer, protecting her for afar. He allows just so much connection in the form of friendship, but Spencer is drawn to him, there’s chemistry and she finds herself totally captivated by him. I am an angst whore and I wanted more build up, more angst, more pining. I do love the secondary characters, especially Cassie who helps Spencer make Dalton confront his emotions and true feelings. Once these two admit their feelings, their connection… Read more »
TOUR Review: Holding Strong by Lori Foster
Kristi’s Thoughts… I need to begin with how much I loved, Loved, LOVED Lori Foster’s SBC series. I read them awhile ago, awhile ago meaning in paperback form, prior to my eReader. So I’ve been a fan for a long time. I was stoked to receive an ARC of this book and dove right in. Denver and Cherry are an explosive couple. If you’re a fan of insta-love and insta-lust, you will love this book. I think it was an instant pairing because I’m assuming in book one, there is build up, but since I didn’t read book one, I’m only guessing. I love an alpha man and Denver is about as alpha and controlling as they come. Cherry has a shady past and when that past resurfaces— Denver stakes his claim and wants to protect her from any harm. If I’m honest, this isn’t my favorite Lori Foster book,… Read more »

ABOUT THE OTHER BROTHER From two New York Times bestselling authors comes a stunning tale of betrayal and blood… Simple. $25 GIVEAWAY and REVIEW: Helia’s Shadow: Part One by K.C. Neal
REVIEW Helia’s Shadow was a great read if you’re into dystopian themed science fiction – and I am. Teenager Helia lives in a post-apocalyptic world. The aftermath of a brutal war that wiped out Earth and humanity as we know it. But ever since the aliens arrived, things got better. More predictable. Not luxurious in any way, even for the daughter if one of Haven’s most prominent and well-respected scientist. Water is rationed since her city is surrounded on all sides by a barren desert. Clothes are minimalistic and plain. And the aliens, while not overtly controlling the population, are much more technologically advanced. The backstory is interesting and well thought out. The history behind the “arrival” of the aliens is compelling and original. In fact, most of this book was quite original. As the story unfolded we are fed bits and pieces of the alien presence and while that… Read more »
