Trapped is Book Two in the Here Trilogy (YA Sci-Fi Romance) CONTAINS SPOILERS DO NOT READ BEFORE READING HERE When Milo Mitchell falls for the beautiful, tuxedo-clad guy she found wandering her family’s rural Colorado property, she never dreamed he was a scout from another galaxy, or that their relationship would leave him with an impossible choice: eradicating humankind, or initiating the end of his own people. Nick’s job is finding the elements his people need to power their elaborate interweb of minds. Being a scout means he is capable of traveling to other planets on his own. It also means that, unlike The Rest, he has access to primitive feelings and individual desires. I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul

I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul

Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may beFor my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstanceI have not winced nor cried aloud.Under the bludgeonings of chanceMy head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tearsLooms but the Horror of the shade,And yet the menace of the yearsFinds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate,How charged with punishments the scroll.I am the master of my fate:I am the captain of my soul. ~William Ernest Henley

Review of Inescapable by Amy A. Bartol

Review of Inescapable by Amy A. Bartol

Inescapable by Amy A. Bartol I loved Evie, really she was a delight to read.  I found myself talking to the characters in this book, which is not something I normally do, so that was a surprise.  Mostly, though I just enjoyed this book from start to finish.  I can easily see this as a movie because it is packed with action, is not just a love story/triangle, and it has some interesting new developments on angels. My only complaint might be Reed.  How, you ask?  How could I have anything bad to say about REED?  And that’s just the point.  He was way too perfect.  He had everything.  I like the boy to be a bit bad and Reed, even though he was a major kick-ass tough guy, was not bad enough for me.  He was too restrained, did not struggle nearly enough, and so felt a little less… Read more »

Review of Saving Grace by Christine Zolendz

Review of Saving Grace by Christine Zolendz

Saving Grace by Christine Zolendz I was captivated by Grace in the first book, Fall from Grace.  I truly appreciated that this was a *real* new adult novel in every sense of the word.  I loved that they acted like normal young people, even if they did drink a little too much.  That’s pretty normal for this age group.  I didn’t even mind that Grace was a virgin because,  unlike some other NA novels I’ve read lately, the reason was pretty clear.  She was saving herself for her one true love.  I get that, I’m OK with that.  The V thing did not bother me in this book. I also loved the sexual tension.  I really did!  I know that some people are saying that the plot was so hot and cold with Shane and Grace, and yes, after thinking about it, it was.  But I enjoyed the ride anyway. … Read more »

Review of Red Fox by Karina Halle

Review of Red Fox by Karina Halle

Red Fox by Karina Halle Oh, that Dex and Perry!  I love these two and writing a review of the Experiment in Terror books is effortless and fun, I swear!  First off, Perry.  How do I even express how much I love this girl?  I wish more authors would make a Perry in their stories.  Perry is complex, in fact I know there is so much more to her based off the hints Karina Halle is dropping through the series, but even if I didn’t feel that something was coming, I’d still think Perry was a 100% developed character.   Also, the romance that has no romance concept is one of my favorite things about this series.  I LOVE that Perry and Dex have to work together, that he has a beautiful girlfriend, and that he teases her about how they +might+ have something else in their future.    OK,… Read more »
