“Look Andrew, you’re a ni—” “Wait.” He held up his other hand. “Just stop right there.” I blinked. “What?” “You’re about to say I’m a nice guy, but you think we should just be friends, right? Believe me, I’ve heard that line more times than I can count.” Shit, that was exactly what I was going to say. “Um…” Without hesitation, he pressed me against the side of my car, his fingers sliding to the back of my neck and into my short hair. I gasped and heat flared between us, so hot I was sure it was melting every inch of snow in the entire parking lot. “You didn’t think I was ‘nice’ that night, did you?” he asked, his voice low, his eyes locked on mine. “No,” I whispered. Memories of that night still haunted me in the best way. I’d lie in bed when I couldn’t sleep… Read more »

$25 GIVEAWAY- Collateral Damage By Elisabeth Grace
“I can sleep on the couch. No worries.” I felt a little like an idiot and a lot like a priss. The bed was huge—it wasn’t like I’d be pressed up against his body all night. Unfortunately. No. Not unfortunately. Besides, we were both adults. This wasn’t that big of a deal. “You don’t have to do that.” Calder raised his hands in a placating gesture. “I don’t want you to be uncomfortable, Frankie.” “I’m fine. We’re adults. No biggie.” I shrugged, almost believing my nonchalance myself. “You’re sure?” He ducked his head down a bit and looked at me from under his brows. I nodded. “I will need to borrow a t-shirt or something, though.” “That I can do.” He walked over to a dresser, rummaged through it for a minute, and pulled out a shirt for me. “Here, wear this one. I can grab you some shorts, but… Read more »
$25 GIVEAWAY- Home by Melissa Pearl
My heart squeezed tight at the sight of him–my towering man with his hangdog frown. “I–” I pointed behind me. “It’s time for me to go.” “Yeah.” Josh stared at the floor as he slowly moved toward me. “I’ll call you when I get there.” “Okay.” Damn, I was going to miss that deep voice–the soft, husky sound of it. His pale blue gaze hit me, making me feel everything from guilt to despair. He opened his mouth to speak but couldn’t say anything. He’d always struggled to talk about his feelings. I guess I just instinctively knew most of them, and as much as I wanted it, I couldn’t expect gushy prose. I needed to get the goodbye over with. Stepping forward, I rose to my tiptoes and brushed my lips against his. “I’ll see you, Josh.” My voice wavered, tears burning my eyes as I spun for the… Read more »
Review: Very Wicked Things
Ok, I read Very Bad Things, book one in this series and loved it. I read it almost a year and half ago and I still remember the characters and plot. That tells me it was really good in my book. I was so excited to read this next book that I bumped it up my very LONG TBR list and it didn’t disappoint. You know you’re reading a good book when you can’t put it down and when you HAVE to, you’re counting the minutes until you can pick it back up. That was this book for me. I became a part of the Briarcrest world and I felt like I was living and breathing Dovey and Cuba’s relationship. It’s hard to categorize this book because there’s a lot that takes place in the pages. There’s angst, of god is there ANGST! Ilsa is a master writer of angst…. Read more »
Release Day Teaser! Very Wicked Things by Ilsa Madden-Mills
Teaser Excerpt from VERY WICKED THINGS I got out of the shower and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba. The door opened, and like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom. “Think I need a shower, too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt. What? Now? Trying to play it cool and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his track pants and the obvious bulge he sported. Oh. Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big? Just, yeah. That thought got stuck in my head and went round and round. “You staying?” he asked, a grin working his face. Pleased at my open admiration, probably. “No,” I said, but made no move to go. ‘Cause I had no shame when it came to catching a… Read more »
Review: Emerge, Book 1 in the Evolve Series
Emerge, book one in S.E. Hall’s Evolve series, broke my heart and then slowly put the pieces back together. There may still be a few still missing, but I’m hopeful that book 2 will help mend those too. I’m late to this series and I’m kicking myself in the ass for not bumping this up to the top of my reading list. I have had this book in my Kindle library for months, MONTHS! What was I waiting for? If you have it in your library, stop what you’re reading and start this series. You won’t be sorry. S. E. Hall has created a sweet and endearing book consisting of likeable characters who tell a story about love, friendship, loyalty and growing up. I connected with the characters immediately. Throughout the book, I felt like I was right there, experiencing each moment with the crew of characters. I channeled my… Read more »
REVIEW: Ruin by C.J. Scott
Ruin by C.J. Scott surprised me in a very good way. I already knew I liked C.J. ‘s writing, but I haven’t had good luck with novella’s in the past. However I was worrying for nothing because after reading Ruin, she’s moved up to the short list of authors who if I know it is by her, I’ll be more than willing to read it. What I liked: As soon as it started, I was sucked in. Ruin is short, but don’t let that fool you. There is a ton of worldbuilding here, done so skillfully that it never becomes bothersome. Every single sub character has wants, and clear motivations. They have histories and rich, definable personalities. It’s very easy to see how the different people are going to class just because of what they want. I feel like I got to know them so well that they might as… Read more »
